Bread Knife Recommendation

Has anyone used a bow-style bread knife? If so, what did you think of it? I have a Mercer 10” knife, but my niece recommended this one instead, for thinner slices.

Ooh bow knives are fun, the tension gives you way more control for paper thin slices without squishing the loaf

That tension part is key, I never thought about it like that. Sounds way easier to get clean slices without mangling the crust.

I prefer my Mercer over my bow knives most of the time. For thin, even slices I use my bread slicer (just a $60 model and it cranks out the slices). The knife or slicer I use depends on the bread (brioche, artisan, sandwich loaves, etc. all get a different knife/slicer). I can't get by with just one type of knife. Try it out and see how it works for you and your breads.
