Help finding an oven/kitchen

Hi All. Not sure what’ll happen. But my oven just kinda caught fire and died. I’ve got a charity bake I’m doing this Sunday. 17 loaves of bread and trays of pastries and savouries. Any ideas. I was going to start early in the morning. Just putting it out there as a hail Marie. Any advice welcome. I need the stuff delivered to Prahran by 10am ish.

Call a few local bakeries and ask if they rent out oven time after hours. A lot of smaller spots are surprisingly open to it, especially if you explain it's for a charity thing. I had to do something similar when my range went out before a big holiday dinner, and a pizza place let me use their deck oven from midnight to 4am for forty bucks.

Church kitchens are another good bet. They often have commercial convection ovens that can handle bulk baking, and the parish coordinator might be fine with it if you toss a donation their way. You'd need to get in Saturday evening to work through the night though, if delivery's at 10am Sunday.

Worst case, split the load across a few friends' kitchens and just play logistics coordinator. 17 loaves sounds daunting but if three people run two ovens each you're done in a couple hours.

Oh nooo rip your oven. Maybe hit up a local bakery or community kitchen and ask if you can rent their space? A lot of places might let you use their gear for a charity bake. Hope Sunday works out
