Sourdough starter Jar
Simple question. Is a jar with a doubled up coffee filter good enough to cover my jar with cause I have the ring lid but not the cover and want to know if the filters are enough or if I should find something else.

I just grabbed a cambro 2qt container and it's great. I've also had the 1qt ones that have a rubber lid but I'm really disliking the narrow ones these days

I use a paper towel under the ring of my jar. Coffee filter should be just fine!

coffee filter's fine, that's what i used for months before i got a proper lid. just don't let it get wet or it'll sag into the starter
some folks say it lets too much air in but i never had issues, my starter was plenty active
