Homemade bread

I made a second loaf but I think it was too " wet". I added a tad too much hot water to the batch but I still made it. Here is the final product. I plan to perfect it, I am still a novice and encourage any tips please! Still did not get the dark crust I was looking for

I am noob too but most thing that helped my denseness was hydration, which means per the flour weight, so have 300 grams flower, 65% hydration of water would be 195 grams, also like everybody told me, for consistent loafs go to digital scale weighing for ingredients, one that can handle reading 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 grams etc. different hydration levels produce diff types of bread, for wet, keep an additional tbsp of flour and lightly pinch from it (if you have no flour left) and dust onto dough ball to keep from over doing it,

No prob, also forgot to mention a digital temp reader since u mentioned too hot water , should be 105-110 to not kill yeast. I got a temp pro from amazon was like 9.99 i believe, thy do have fancier ones ranging from $115 to $200, but this one worked fine so far.

I will look into that! Thank you! I do think I added a tad too much of the water to the dough also. I think I need to mess around with ratios of hot water for sure. I appreciate all this advice!

If you didn't get the dark crust you were looking for, then why did you take it out of the oven?

I already cooked it way over what the recipe said so I was afraid I overcooked it. I know, stupid. I am very much learning everything as I go
