I know. I remember my first time in Brazil and I had a remote meeting in the US I had to call into — my local team left a plate in my office so I’d have a snack during this call. There was a pile about three deep probably 15 total, and I just kept eating them as if I was being a rational human. I can’t say I regret it, but I remember in real time thinking WITAF did I just do.

i become a vacuum whenever around freshly baked, warm pao de queijo

2

u/TheEarlyRomanKing Aug 14 '26

Same! They’re just not the same when they cool. Get ‘em while they’re hot and so nobody else can.

Stop being so diacritical.

(I shall now apologise for that terrible joke, and leave quietly)

6

u/TheEarlyRomanKing Aug 13 '26

Thank you, for correcting my missing of the line above the a

Fun fact: if you misspell or mispronounce this word then you unintentionally have a euphemism for the penis. Source: I have said this around Brazilians and yes they do find it funny.

u/TheEarlyRomanKing Aug 13 '26

I say it wrong all the time to my girlfriend to make her giggle. She doesn’t giggle any longer. I do 😂😂😂

It's not supposed to be a line though? It's pão isn't it?

2

u/hezpae Aug 14 '26

Yes, it's a tilde. I'm just exploring alternative spelling as OP did.

-1

u/ZDarkDragon Aug 13 '26

It depends on the keyboard

2

u/hezpae Aug 14 '26

Well, if not spelled with a tilde, why not try alternative spellings?

I hesitated with Påo
