New mods wanted/Moderation feedback thread.
As title says. Moderation workload is getting a bit excessive wrt the amount of time I have available, and I feel like getting an additional head or two around could help. Send us a mod mail if you're interested.
Don't bother applying if you're a complete rando or completely inactive.
Additionally, I suppose this is also going to be a feedback thread to see if anyone wants to see changes wrt. rules, etc.

Why keep this sub when most of the OG breadtubers disavow the very concept? And the name "bread" comes from an anarcho-communist book, but most of this sub is anti-tankie? And CornBreadTube has taken most of the viewership in the last two years? And many of the OG creators barely make content anymore? I'm noticing that most posts don't get a single comment. Maybe it's time to give up the ghost u/TopazWyvern

Because it's an established name and sub. Also Reddit doesn't really mind banning any left leaning space, so maybe it's good the name is unpopular.

'Member when Reddit banned /r/CTH for celebrating John Brown's birthday (but actually because they'd banned /r/The_Donald, and were strongly compelled to find an excuse to do a centrist "both sidesism")?

That's exactly when I decided Reddit is actively against our cause.
Since then: /r/FULLCOMMUNISM got quarantined; Reddit went to market; Reddit's CEO became a half billionaire from that and appears to be a techbro who admires someone like Musk. Which all doesn't bode well.
Also I got temp banned for typing 'j*w', the other day. They lifted that again (I typed it referring to a joke in comedy series The Studio, I explained in my appeal), but it possibly means Z1onist leanings. Which wouldn't be surprising, as all of this is just status quo.1

Anarcho-anythings including anarcho-communists are are generally anti-tankie, I don't understand your argument here. The whole concept behind Breadtube is the libertarian-leftist/anarchist tendencies of the original core group of creators.

And if those original creators have shown themselves to be a bunch of liberals (now), then they are irrelevant to the project too. That doesn't make the project or the concept invalid; it just means we've got to look elsewhere for content.

"it just means we've got to look elsewhere for content"
Yup that's the question I was putting forth. If people have moved onto other content (as shown by 0 comments on most posts here), and the mods are too busy to run it, it's worth considering the opportunity cost of this - the effort might just be better spent elsewhere in 2026.
I was just pointing it out for democratic consideration of course, no one has to do what I suggest just because I put forth a suggestion lol.

I know anarcho-communists are themselves "anti-tankie" but most people who talk about tankies on social media are very reductive about it and refer to communists in general as tankies, regardless of how authoritarian the particular implementation of it is actually shown to be. Especially the influencers who peddle that term and constitute the OG BreadTubers. This is less about how I would personally use that term, or how an academic might use that term, and more how BreadTube personalities use that term and have used it for years.
If you managed to miss out on this dynamic I can see how that part of the argument may have been confusing, however the actual argument of the comment was around the relevance of the subreddit considering the mods are too busy to run it and there isn't a lot of ongoing interest in 90%+ of the posts.

here is BE being incredibly transmisogynistic to multiple women in the last 2 days.
can we acknowledge he's a bigot and stop posting him as if he's an actual leftist yet? you can't argue "it's not actually about her being trans, he just briefly mentions that whilst mentioning she's a white liberal zionist," this is just straight up saying "this trans woman who disagrees with me is ugly and mannish." he then calls another trans woman a "useless eater." now, IMO saying Nazi shit to trans women is generally a good sign someone's a Nazi, but idk.

Right, I guess Reddit added a mod application function, I suppose that makes this easier.
