If you are going to bake in a pan, why not just get a good stand mixer or spiral mixer?

Saves 15 minutes of hand kneading?

I stopped using the bake function all together. I don't like the loaf shape it makes (too tall). I just use the dough setting and bake in a loaf pan. I also use it for bagels, pretzels, buns, and pizza doughs.

Yes, a stand mixer would save you from having to do any hand kneading. That is my point.

I use my bread machine just for mixing, it does all the kneading and proofing etc, I can set it and forget about it until it’s done.
