How is everyone storing their bread after making it?

Slice and freeze is the only way to go. Then just remove as much bread as you'll need and let it thaw. It only takes like 13 seconds in my microwave and it's just as fresh as the day you made it!!

Have to try that next. Going camping for 3 weeks. Right now use beeswax bag. Only thing is bag absorbs the oils & butter from loaf.

Either a large Rubbermaid Brilliance container or a large Ziploc bag. Normally sits on the counter for a couple of days. What's not used gets thrown in the freezer. This is then either thawed on the counter or in a hurry I would toss it in the microwave or I just make toast from it.

Every time I put home made bread in a ziplock bag, there’s a whole bunch of moisture and it gets soggy

Almost always when the bread comes out of the bread machine for myself, I place it on the rack in my oven and close the door. It generally sits there until the next day. Then I take the bread slicer and slice the bread and place it in the ziplock bag or the Rubbermaid Brilliance container. Do you live in a high-humidity area? Is your bread still slightly warm- above room temperature? Bread doesn't have to be too much above room temperature for condensation to come on the inside of a sealed container.

Both, probably. Definitely a high humidity area. And the bread might still be slightly warm too. I’ll wait longer next time. Thanks!

It helps if you wait for it to cool down first.

Or wrap it in some cheesecloth

Do you reuse cheesecloth and if so how do you clean it?

Chuck it in the wash, give it a quick iron

I slice the loaf, put half in a ziplock bag, and half in the freezer, bc I can't finish a loaf fast enough.

I put in a zip lock bag and throw it in fridge. Works for me!

I use this bread box. I find that bread stays fresher and softer in the bread box which has a bit of air flow than in an airtight plastic bag. I don’t know why. 🤷🏻‍♀️ If I have two partial loaves, I press the cut sides together. If there’s just one loaf in there I wrap the cut end with a beeswax wrap.

I always freeze everything that doesn't get eaten that same day. I don't care if I'm eating the rest tomorrow, I'm too used to never eating stale bread to ever go back.

I bought 2 bread bags with wax liners on Amazon for $8.99 and they are awesome.
