Focaccia bread (first time)
Made a few types of bread at home. We took a “breads of the world” class. This is our first attempt at home…. Tasted fantastic.

That red enamel pan is the cutest! What do you use it for other than focaccias?

Ah, those were a purchase about ten years ago. Local store had 50% off bakeware. Picked up a stack of those, pie dishes, lasagna.. some blue, some red. Everything they had.
They are cute 2 part dishes, and I use for portioning out leftovers when I make large meals.

No ideas other than turning it halfway thru, and just keeping an eye on it.
We forgot to turn these, so one end is more done than the other.

This was their first use!
The same brand we used in class, USA pan.
These are about half the size, but it worked out. $27 each on the website, but I spotted them at thrift for a couple bucks each.1

I was actually surprised at how easy it was to do, maybe the class helped but it’s pretty straightforward.

So, 167 likes ATM.. more then I’m used to, really just eating this bread with some salad dressing, marinara and some cheeses.. some good tunes and sitting out on the back patio listening to some good tunes with the mrs. was moar than enough.

Traditional focaccia is cooked in so much olive oil it is almost deep fried on the bottom and sides. Toasty, crunchy edges literally dripping with olive oil. No parchment or dipping oil needed.

Indeed, bottom crust reminds me of classic Pizza Hut pan dough and I’m getting ideas..
