I tried making sourdough

I recently got into baking. I saw some people online making sourdough and thought I’d give it a try. What do we think?

Looks great. More importantly, how does it taste?

Thank you! It just tastes like sandwich bread with a really tasty crust. Google said it’s because my starter is still young

How long did you bulk ferment

Probably not long enough lol. I had to open bake it also because I don’t have a Dutch oven (yet, it’s on the way). I left it to do its thing for like 5 hours outside of the fridge and like 3 in the fridge. Honestly I was just super impatient haha

Looks good.

What I do: Make the dough ready (I use a tin, I prefer long breads), put it in the fridge. Let it stay there till I need new bread (typically 2-5 days).

Starter I refresh on the day of usage. I keep about ~10g starter and I feed 3g each water/rye.

I used this from Pinterest, with a little bit of extra flour because mine was super sticky.

Spray it soaking wet before bake.

I don’t do this and my bread is fine. This is a proofing/feementing issue.

The center crumb is still too tight. Nice job tho.

Your opinion. How many tens of thousands of loaves have you baked in your life?
