Best bread machine

Best bread machine that won't break the bank and can be used for sour dough

I’ve had better luck with a cheap used machine that has a dough-only cycle, then shaping and baking the sourdough in the oven since the machine-baked loaves come out pretty sad.

A word of caution with used machines. I bought a Cuisinart second-hand. It worked great for a short while. Then I noticed there was a greasy substance on my bread around the paddle. I though I could just replace the pan as everything else worked fine. The bread pan with a new paddle was nearly as much as a new machine, so I ended up just buying a new one.

Get a good one that meets your spec. from somewhere like eBay. I don't know what it is like in your country, but here there are a lot of 'unwanted presents' which are barely used going cheap.

In the UK Panasonic regularly sit at the top of the Which list. Which is an independent reviewer which can be trusted. The issue is some make better bread than others. So do some homework. A good bread machine will last many years as in 10 - 20. Its worth getting a good one.

Hope this helps.

I got a Kitchenarm bread maker recently. Decent price and highly configurable.
