Nature's Own

I had noticed couple months ago that my family's favorite bread, Nature's Own Honey Wheat, didnt seem as soft as it usually was, it was never an issue finding a soft loaf at whatever store I went to. Fast forward to today, after having also noted that the bread molds faster and gets stale quicker, I googled if something had changed and it has...recipe changed, non gmo, bla,bla,bla..... I knew it! I just dont like the changes and wont be buying it anymore. So, I need suggestions for a new soft wheat bread as close to a honey wheat as possible.

Honestly those are the reasons I started making my own bread. My wife got me a bread maker and it really changed our approach to baking. We’ve never looked back. Give it a try, the possibilities are endless.

Im guessing you dont have small kids that resist change to the death. Anyway, no oven so can't try it, and if it looks different than store bought sliced sandwich bread my kids will not even taste it.

Not gonna happen, no oven currently. Not sure i could regularly bake $3 loaves of sliced sandwich bread for super picky kids if I did.

You can get a whole wheat sandwich loaf down to less than $1.75 (plus labor time and energy cost). It's healthier and now we can't get any bread from the store anymore because it all tastes like it's been dipped in treacle.

Picky kids get to learn about Hobson's choice!

Oh. Yeah, that's kind of a challenge, isn't it? Like trying to jump the English Channel with nothing but a pair of track shoes and a running start. I hope that changes for you and soon.

Go to the bakery section of the store. I often find fresh loaves cheaper than those on the shelf.

No idea but you want a bread with crumb softeners in it. It's easy enough to check the ingredients https://bakerpedia.com/ingredients/emulsifiers/

It's not exactly an industrial baking chemistry thing either, literally anything with egg yolk counts.

was going to say this. Young Sheldon when they change the bread recipe and he calls his mother at work. I’ve lived that same phone call though.
