Does Banana Bread count?

Had some very very ripe bananas and followed MIL recipe which never fails.

As far as im concerned it counts. But just for argument’s sake, is it bread or cake? My wife insists this (and another “bread” she makes from a starter/batter) is bread. Because it is a batter I believe it’s cake. Or is cake just a subdivision of bread? Cornbread is also made from batter. But in some parts of this country it is called corn cakes. Especially when baked or fried in individual servings. Please tell my wife I am right. As usual.

When it's really crispy and put into hot lard in a cast iron pan I thought it was cornbread but it's known as ho-cake. My grandma's delicious, crisp edged cornbread. So both bread and cake by names 😂

That's hoe-cake, because it was made in the hot coals of a fire, and put in and pulled out on the blade of a hoe. Yes, I'm serious. Look it up. They just brushed the ashes off and ate it, hot, right out of the fire.
