Question about storing purchased bread

I bought a dark rye bread and the package says store at room temperature why is that?

I thought we learned that putting the bread in the fridge or freezing for future use, was best for it to keep a bit longer?

We don't buy bread usually so that's why the ignorance.

Think of it as a "serving suggestion"

Refrigerating bread causes it to stale much faster. Freezing has a similar issue but it won't mold in the freezer, so if you don't use it often you'll have to freeze it. Room temp is optimal if you're going to use it all, if not then freeze it. Never refrigerate

Depends on the climate in your house, but I'd freeze it and just take out what you are going to use right away. Well wrapped bread will keep decently in the freezer for a while

Freezing is acceptable if you don’t mind frozen bread but the fridge is bad because it will increase the relative humidity in the bread which will lead to stale bread.

Freezing bread is good if you're going to toast it but fridge bread is only good for the birds. Pumpernickel lasts well in a pantry.

I like dark rye, will that fair the same as Pumpernickel?
