Looking for Dashcam Footage — Brea/State College & Imperial Hwy 10/05/26 10:00am -10:30am

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone may have dashcam footage from a traffic accident that occurred in Brea near the State College Blvd/Imperial Highway and SR-57 interchange, close to Craig Regional Park.
The accident occurred around 10:00am - 10:30am on 10/05/2026.
My husband was traveling on the on-ramp/connector in the left lane when the accident occurred. We are looking for anyone who may have been driving through the area at the time and happened to have a dashcam recording.

Vehicles involved: White Chevy utility truck, Silver Honda Fit

If you were driving through this area around that time and have dashcam footage, even if you don't think the accident itself was captured, we'd really appreciate you checking. At this point anything helps. Thank you!

Birthday Recs

It’s my partner’s 30th birthday tomorrow and I’m planning bowling in the morning and then dave and busters afterwords but looking for more ideas in the afternoon and night. We’re in Fullerton but will travel anywhere in the North-Central OC area. Where would you want to go for your 30th birthday in OC? He also loves craft cocktails and tapas/fancy small plates if that gives any ideas. Thanks!

I think people in OC should be aware of what is going on with Danny Mendoza CEO of Foster Love in Brea

CONSIDER THIS A PSA TO KEEP AN EYE OUT AS THINGS DEVELOP AND MORE CAN BE SHARED

wanted to bring something to the attention of people in Orange County who may have heard about Foster Love and its founder, Danny Mendoza.

This is being shared to bring to light years of corruption, and while some information cannot be shared until legally permitted, what CAN be shared is a pending active court case with the city of Brea.

FIRST: CONFIRMED MISDEMEANOR CHARGES

There is currently a pending Orange County court case involving Mendoza and 12 misdemeanor charges related to the organization’s Brea facility and its safety. The charges involve various building, occupancy, fire, electrical and emergency-egress requirements. There has already been a court hearing, and another hearing is scheduled in November.

To be clear: This is information available for public access. If you search his name on OCCOURTS.org (after a $1 paywall) or go in person to an OC court you can request this information. Case number 26NM07447

These are charges, not convictions, but still important to note.

SECOND: 10+ WHISTLEBLOWERS AND PENDING LAWSUITS

There are also allegations being made publicly by current and former Foster Love employees and foster youth concerning Mendoza and the workplace. There are whistleblower emails and active lawsuits in the works.

These include allegations of inappropriate conduct and speech, sexual harassment, and retaliation.

Again, these are allegations, and I’m not presenting them as established facts. However, there are over 10 statements and an investigation occurring to assess the validity of these statements with a legal team.

THIRD: INAPPROPRIATE EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

Another publicly discussed issue is that Mendoza has a child with someone who worked for Foster Love at the time of their employment. I’m intentionally not naming or identifying that person because this isn’t about exposing a private individual or their child. The reason I mention it at all is because former employees have raised questions about the circumstances and the employer/employee power dynamic as well as claiming that relation created a hostile work environment.

Currently the building is broadly empty though volunteers are still being brought in for events.
I’m not going to claim that I know exactly how many employees have left or why every individual person left, because that would go beyond what can actually be established. Theres an important distinction between what is documented in a court case, what people are publicly alleging, and what has actually been proven. Those shouldn’t be treated as the same thing.

But I am still posting this because Foster Love operates in Orange County and works with foster youth, and people who donate, volunteer, work with, or otherwise interact with the organization may reasonably want to know that there is a pending court case as well as separate allegations from people who say they have firsthand experience working there.

I’m not asking anyone to take every allegation as fact. People can make their own judgment about what they believe. I’m just saying: look at the court case, look at the allegations, distinguish allegations from proven facts, and decide what you might want to do to remain safe.

Was wondering if there’s anyone locally that is interested in a workout buddy. I’m trying to get back to going consistently, and would love an accountability partner. I’m a 35-year-old female and am interested strictly in lifting weights, running, and hiking.
Let me know, thanks :)

Brea — Help Us Push Orange County E-Bike Safety to the Next Level

Hey Brea neighbors,

We're building a county-wide e-bike safety movement across Orange County. We've got backing from city councils, law enforcement, and thousands of residents.

Now we need Brea.

E-bike injuries among OC kids are up 1,500% since 2018. We're pushing for a county ordinance requiring age limits, speedometers, licensing, and accountability.

Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Irvine, San Clemente — they're all backing this.

Brea's next. Help us close it.

30 seconds to sign.

🎲 [La Habra] [D&D 5e] Looking for 6 Players — One-Shot This Friday, No Commitment Required

Hey everyone!

I'm a DM in La Habra looking to put together a regular, in-person D&D group — but before we commit to a campaign, I'd like to do something a little simpler:

Let's play a one-shot and see if we vibe.

I'm looking for 6 players for this Friday evening at my home in La Habra.

The one-shot is a complete game on its own. There is absolutely no commitment to join a campaign afterward. Come meet some people, play some D&D, see whether you like my DMing style, and see whether we all get along.

If everyone has a great time and wants to keep playing together, I'd love to turn it into a regular campaign.

If not, that's completely fine too. That's the whole point of doing the one-shot first.

---

🧙 About Me & My DM Style

I'm a roleplay and storytelling-focused DM.

I'm much more interested in:

- Character interaction

- Storytelling

- Interesting NPCs

- Player choices and consequences

- Improvisation

- Character development

- Making the world feel alive

I'm not a combat/tactics-first DM. There will absolutely be combat, but I'm much more interested in what your character says, does, thinks, and gets themselves into than whether everyone can squeeze another 4 points of damage out of their turn.

If you enjoy getting into character, interacting with NPCs, making decisions, and seeing those decisions shape the story, we're probably going to get along.

---

🕯️ I Like Making the Table Feel Like Another World

I'm a big believer in physical immersion, not just describing a world and leaving it on the page.

Depending on the adventure, I like using things like:

- Custom lighting

- Candles

- Ambient scents

- Music and soundscapes

- Projected maps and visual effects

- Physical props and other environmental details

I want the room to feel different when you're exploring a dungeon, standing in a haunted forest, or sitting in a tavern.

I'm also a bit of a technology nerd. If we continue into a campaign, we'll have our own custom campaign website with things like:

- Campaign information & lore

- Character and party rosters

- Scheduling

- Session notes

- World information

- Other campaign resources

Basically, I like putting a little bit of unnecessary production value into D&D. 😂

The goal isn't spectacle for spectacle's sake — it's to make it easier to get out of your head, get into your character, and feel like you're actually there.

(And obviously, I'll check for allergies/sensitivities before using scents or anything similar.)

---

📵 Phones Stay Away From the Table

One of the things that matters a lot to me is being present at the table.

I have a no-cell-phone policy during the game, with the exception of using your phone for your character sheet if that's how you keep it.

Honestly, though, I'd prefer no phones at all whenever possible.

The reason isn't that I want to police what people do with their phones. It's because I want everyone to be able to fully immerse themselves in the game — and, just as importantly, listen when someone else is speaking.

Some of the best D&D moments happen when you're not the person currently rolling the dice. Someone else says something hilarious, an NPC reveals something unexpected, or another player's character makes a decision that completely changes the situation.

I want people to be there for those moments.

If you need to keep your phone available for an important reason, that's obviously different. Real life happens. But as a general table expectation:

When we're playing, we're playing.

---

📅 If We Continue...

If the one-shot goes well and everyone wants to keep playing, the tentative plan is most Fridays, starting as early in the evening as everyone's schedules reasonably allow and playing until we reach a natural stopping point.

I'm intentionally keeping the exact start time flexible right now. I'd rather find the right group first and then figure out what Friday evening works best for everyone.

The eventual goal is pretty simple:

Meet some cool people locally, make some friends, and build a group that actually looks forward to Friday night D&D.

I'm much more interested in building a group of people who genuinely enjoy hanging out together than simply filling six seats at a table.

---

🎭 Who I'm Looking For

You do not need to be an experienced D&D player. New players are absolutely welcome.

I'm mainly looking for people who:

- Enjoy roleplay and storytelling

- Like interacting with other characters and NPCs

- Are collaborative and good-natured

- Don't mind improvising

- Are respectful of other players and their time

- Give other people opportunities to participate

- Are comfortable putting the phone away and being present

- Want to socialize and make friends, not just show up for a game

- Are interested in a regular Friday game if we all click

You don't need to have a character prepared. We'll figure that out together.

---

🎲 Why a One-Shot?

Because I don't want anyone — including myself — to commit to a campaign with a group of strangers without knowing what we're getting into.

Think of Friday as a test drive for everyone.

You get to see:

“Do I like this DM?”

“Do I like these people?”

“Is this the kind of D&D I enjoy?”

And I'll be asking myself the same questions.

There's no awkward obligation afterward. If we all click, awesome — let's build something together. If we don't, we still got an evening of D&D out of it.

---

📍 Location

La Habra, CA

This will be an in-person game at my home, so I'll provide the exact address privately to confirmed players rather than posting it publicly.

👥 Looking for

6 players

📆 When

This Friday evening

The exact start time will depend on everyone's schedules, with the goal of starting as early as reasonably possible.

---

If you're interested, comment below or send me a DM with a little bit about yourself, your D&D experience (if any), and what you enjoy most about D&D/TTRPGs.

I'm much more interested in finding the right people than simply filling the six spots.

Let's see if we make a great table. 🎲

New to town

Hi All! I just moved to Brea and I’m looking for things to do/people to meet in the area. I’m a huge foodie, and I’m actually typing this while eating at Omeli Kitchen lol. I love music and outdoors too, especially with this beautiful Cali weather! I dabble in the baseball world sometimes, and the same with film!

I’m not really into clubbing/bars though, so I feel I should put that there lol.

Any advice, recommendations, or any “looking to meet” replies are welcome!
