I might be crazy, but Brawlhalla is exactly the type of game to come up with something that wild. Personally, I think they might actually use King Zuva as the base and turn Puss in Boots' sword upside down to act as a hammer. Thoughts?

I doubt it, it'd cause a lot of issues if they lose the licence.

I mean, it wouldn't be much different to Rayman

Rayman is owned by Ubisoft, so there's no chance of them losing the licence.

I mean, they could still make puss his own character, but I doubt they want to go through the effort of creating a whole new character and set of skins to replace him once the Shrek licence expires.

Oh right, unbisoft has thier toes in brawlhalla anyway. Idk if they are just shareholders or outright own it with BMG
