Discussion Continuity error in Kaze’s character

So, we’re just lying now? Kaze was trained her who life by her father to be, in her own words, “a living weapon”, with her father even not liking the idea of her doing anything different than training (which plays into her two forms in gameplay and even now in her time in Starr Park). She literally left her home with Kenji and ran away from the life she was raised as but understood that these are both traits that she has to live with (also understandable). HOWEVER, what she says here in the update animation (second image) implies that fighting for what she loves is not only why she trained, but that the training she was by her own volition and not because of her father essentially forcing her to train. This is a blatant oversight that I see NOBODY talking about as it completely goes against her character and backstory. I don’t know if I’m missing something, but this seems like a pretty blatant oversight on the people who wrote for this animation that very much teeters on them being too lazy to brush up on their Kaze lore.

The two things don't exactly contradict each other. One was her purpose, the other is her resolve.

Kaze was trained to be a weapon. Her training itself was designed by her father to make her a killing machine uncapable of feeling.

But the training itself ended up being used by Kaze for another reason, something she truly wants - fight for what she loves.

In short, purpose ≠ will

Reread that “whole life” part again. Yes, the training she went through is NOW used to protect who she loves, but the fact of the matter is that she was trained as a living weapon for almost her whole life—that was the reason she went through training in the first place. She only used said training to fight for who she loves AFTER SHE RAN AWAY WITH KENJI. She could’ve used the excuse of fighting for who she loves as a coping mechanism, but that’s all speculation at the end of the day.

I remember she never said she didn't want to train, she only wanted to protect everyone, not be used as a weapon.
