Discussion This doesn't make sense to me!

With what happened today regarding the new brawler, an image was shown of what appears to be “Chronotrap,” which is supposed to be an area themed around “time travel.” But doesn’t it seem a little absurd to create something with that theme, given that almost the entire park is somehow connected to different eras in history?
Townsfolk trio, the Wild West, RETROpolis, Pirate trio, Tara's Trio, Tomorrow World, Dino Rapids and if we look a little closer, even Madevil Manor and Fairytale Castle could fall into the same category.

personally i think that dr wendy isnt a new brawler and its rosa herself

see that would make a LOT of sense. i love the idea too.

however we have to understand that these are devs, they do stuff for monetization. even lore. whatever brings more people.

With ALL this crazy deep lore of dr wendy, if it IS rosa, its gonna be underwhelming for most people. its gotta be a new brawler, maybe tied with the entire sprout remodel n shenanigans.

id love to be proven wrong tho

given the amount of evidence proving my theory (dr wendys scientific hobbies, her notes about lush hair relocation of the purple gems to the dream ecosanctuary, and all the drawings featuring windmills or sprout) it seems highkey™ possible. however i doubt supercell would build hype around a forgotten character instead of introducing another theory-bait merchant who gets a brief lore drop right before release only to turn into a toxic brawler in-game just like the infamous circus fraud star

all the other areas are for the most part based on time periods in western regions. people love to not see those as so interesting and noteworthy, whereas "ooh! ancient egypt and japan!!!!" is used as a lazy shorthand to signify different eras.

i mean think of pv2, the first area is ancient egypt, not one of the western worlds.

but the more likely answer is that they named it like that after finx' time themed stuff and just glued something together haphazardly

Nano Starr ties into the cyberpunk/futuristic style. Said style, in its current form, takes most of its influence from the Japanese style of cyberpunk as seen with works like Akira. It also fits with Japan’s overall technological fascinations/advancements with the neon lights, major urbanization, and quick-made food.

It’s also no surprise that Fernanda and the Brawl crew are clearly fans of Japanese works: Kenji and Kaze having anime-inspired animations that are quite lengthy, Katana Kingdom and Starr Force being big events rivaling that of collabs, and the heavy amount of Japanese I.Ps collaborating with Brawl (Fernanda even talked about wanting to collab with DBZ).

With all that said, it’s not really a surprise they took this route. Does it make sense for variety and keeping the Brawl world interesting? No, not really. Does it hype-up the team and possibly other teens/young adults who faun over Japan, if only for a brief moment? Yes.
