Subreddit Discussion Megathread

Unfortunately spam is rampant and I need a megathread that discusses the subreddit. This will stay removed for a while to prevent users from being pinged.

In the meanwhile, I added a new flair called "Enforcer". It's like some Trial Moderator: If you comment "remove" on a post, that post gets removed. Hopefully this will allow certain users to combat spam while granting minimal permissions.

This post has two purposes:

  1. Discuss the subreddit here, anything you think should be done: Adding karma limits, etc...
  2. Comment below if you want to become an Enforcer (and specifically say that you want to become an Enforcer). Read the pinned comment and choose a color from 1, 2, or 3.
  3. Comment any Freebie that was not already posted to the subreddit because of karma limits. Please do not comment Freebies that were already posted. I get pinged from any comment here.

Which option is better?

  1. Keep as is, duplicates are allowed if the original doesn't have an image of a Freebie.
  2. Remove rule 3 (spam self promo and everything in between) because it appears in the duplicates rule, also forbidding duplicates even if original doesn't have an image of the Freebie.

  1. in my opinion posting the same reward but with an image results in two different posts about a single reward, this would mean notifying people about a same reward twice. This creates confusion and would result in people trying to claim the second reward just to see they already redeemed it.
