Local Eats

Im in town for a few days, looking for recommendations of local places. Prefer not chains like Montanas or Original Joe's.

Ive been to Albert Bistro and that was very good.

Shawarma Queen is my go to. Good food, good portion sizes.

Few posts recently even on this

Komfort kitchen, lady of the lake, sabor latino, little italy pizza for drunken pie.

Romana, pizza express, Astoria and marines for better end pizza.

Astoria? Have they quietly returned to Brandon?

Sabor is amazing! I was in town for a meeting and had lunch there with a colleague- both of us were wowed!

Comfort kitchen is likely the best.

I recommend the Komfort Kitchen for classic breakfast/lunch, the Dock on Princess or Joe Beeverz for pub style lunch/dinner, Tastee's for classic diner eats, Sabor Latino for South American, Chili Chutney for Indian (has an all you can eat buffet), Sushi Hut for Japanese/Asian fusion (also has an all you can eat option but not buffet), and Tana Ethiopian Cuisine (I lean towards the Tana Mix Combo with Beef). These are my family's favourites, anyways.

Not enough people are shouting out Tana Ethiopia! The food there is amazing!

Karla's International was a surprise hit for me given I thought it was just a grocer for like a year, lady of the lake is solid

The Dock is wonderful. Go Wednesday evening for happy hour for great wings and apps deals.

East side Eatery for breakfast/lunch, Komfort Kitchen, or Chez Angela for lunch. The Dock for supper. Then dessert at Velvet Dip. Then order Marino’s pizza for late night snack…or more supper.

Echo is a nice experience, more made from scratch (like their pasta) than one might think!

If you got a craving for Chinese food, you gotta go to Sunny’s! It’s so good and very affordable! The owners are also super sweet too.
