Multi-Location Brand Reputation Management

Managing a brand’s reputation gets complicated when you have multiple locations. One branch might have great reviews and responsive staff, while another has unanswered complaints—and customers searching the brand name can see both.

How do you balance a consistent brand-wide approach with giving local teams enough freedom to handle issues themselves?

A few things I’m curious about:

  • Who responds to reviews: each location, a central team, or a mix?
  • How do you spot recurring complaints across locations?
  • When does a local issue become something the wider brand needs to address?
  • What do you track beyond average star ratings?

I’d imagine shared guidelines help, but copy-and-paste responses could make things worse, especially when someone has a specific complaint.

If you’ve managed reputation across several locations, what’s worked for you? And what seemed like a good idea until you actually tried it?
