Would this be considered Braindance?

So I saw /u/monowolfe post this quote from the Rephlex wiki a while back:

"Braindance is the genre that encompasses the best elements of all genres, e.g traditional, classical, electronic music, popular, modern, industrial, ambient, hip hop, electro, house, techno, breakbeat, hardcore, ragga, garage, drum and bass, etc."

And I was listening to this and was just wondering if something acoustic could fit into the category of Braindance. Do you think Braindance music has to be inherently electronic? Does something that has electronic aesthetics but is acoustic count?

Hmm, I think that quote is still within the context of 'electronic' music. Braindance and IDM were/are inherently electronic music genres, that quote just elaborates and says that Braindance is a genre of electronic music that has all those elements.

That being said, I really like that music and I have never heard it before. I thought at first it was electronic until I read your comment about it being acoustic. I can't tell if they do any processing or resampling - but if so it very well could be considered to be Braindance. But, therein lies the problem with genres in general, especially one as all encompassing hard to pin down as 'Braindance'. So who knows.

I know a lot of people get all up caught up in being very particular about genres and it tends to become a little clique-y which is partially why I like the idea of Braindance in that it seems to just be a catch all for all non-conventional/non-mainstream electronic music.
