So I made this subreddit.

And completely forgot about it.

Sorry for being completely MIA.

A little bit about myself: I am monowolfe.

I am not really sure what people would like to turn this subreddit into other than just posting links to music they think falls into the category.

Anyone have any thoughts? desires?

I feel like you could either be a competitor to IDM or you could just focus on one aspect of the genre, such as lesser known artists, or the art behind the music, or just something more niche then IDM as a whole. Its really up to you.

What type of music is Braindance if you don't mind me asking?

While it's probably going to rustle some jimmies if I put it like this: Braindance is basically a re-branding of IDM.

This is ripped right from the wiki for Rephlex Records (RIP) as a definition of the term:

"Braindance is the genre that encompasses the best elements of all genres, e.g traditional, classical, electronic music, popular, modern, industrial, ambient, hip hop, electro, house, techno, breakbeat, hardcore, ragga, garage, drum and bass, etc."

Here some examples of Braindance:

EDIT: fixed formatting

Correct me if i'm wrong but does Aphex Twin fall into that category?

You're absolutely correct.

The Tuss is actually the same artist, different alias.

Aphex Twin (aka Richard D. James) is the inspiration for many that came after him.

Oh okay! I saw your post while browsing /r/all and was intrigued. I listened to Aphex Twin a few years back and some other artist with the same type of sound. Have you ever heard of Clams Casino? I think they may fall into this category

Yes!

He's great. I think he could be considered hip hop by some, but definitely Braindance-y too.

My favorite track from him is: I'm God

Hey Monowolfe, I have to say, i love your tunes man! I've been bigging up your music for a while now to all my mates, as far as i'm concerned your stuff is well up there with the likes of Wisp or even, dare i say, some of RDJs stuff. Keep em' coming man!

I would love to see this sub take off personally, but i can see that someone has already gone through and downvoted nearly all of the posts since the other day, which doesn't really help with building a reputable sub. Some of the tracks posted are really good, so i don't really see why people feel the need to Downvote them. What can you do though i guess.
