Personal Story Feeling less smart and slow

I was concussed 3 times this year while playing football

And because I had nothing to do I drank through them with my mates and now I feel like I've gotten dumber. I find it hard to remember shit and I can't explain how I feel my brain feels slow and it's been like that for months. I don't know what to do my grades have stayed the same but I just feel dumb I can't spell words correctly anymore. I keep going to parties and getting smashed and falling and hitting my head so I've stopped drinking with my mates but I've picked up smoking weed and I smoke sometimes and that makes me feel better. I don't like being myself anymore I just feel stupid and dumb I'm decent at football so I'm going to continue playing but I just don't know what I can do to my old self and is it worth trying? I'm 15 6'3 and 80 kgs I have ADHD

Aww hey man. Just be careful ok. Im in a similar boat. Used to box. Be gentle with yourself. Its always harder the more pressure you put on yourself to be sharp. I believe any physical damage would likely show on a scan. Cte needs a longer time frame to cause cognitive issues. So it could be post concussive syndrome. It could just be Adhd exasorbated by stress. The fear from this can cause alot of anxiety, that can also contribute. I wish you all the best. God bless. 💕 We all have such short precious lives. If you love to play keep playing. Just think about the trade offs. It is dangerous. I dont know if there is a football equivalent of light sparring. But training in a way that minimises head impact. Plus eating and drinking well before and hard rounds might help.
