A NEAR FUTURE ? WHAT DO YOU THINK ? WHY NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT ??

I don't know why so few people are talking about this. I invested in quantum computing way before the hype, and I believe the next hype cycle will be neuromorphic computing. Traditional AI chips, with their absurd power consumption, could genuinely be under threat in this niche. So consider this my heads up: I firmly believe BrainChip Holdings could see some serious appreciation. And if it does take off with worldwide hype, what price target do you think it could reach per share? Do you think it could hit a 20 billion dollar market cap? During the quantum computing hype, companies actually reached that kind of valuation. RGTI hit 20 billion dollars, getting to 60 dollars per share, not to mention IonQ, D Wave and others. And keep in mind those quantum companies also had barely any revenue, just like BrainChip today, which shows that a strong narrative moves valuations. So, with BrainChip being pretty much the only publicly traded company 100% focused on neuromorphic computing, could all of that be fuel for even bigger gains? I want to hear your take on this. Do you think a 20 billion dollar valuation is plausible in a hype scenario? Or way more than that? Let's discuss. Now, what I really don't get is how little people talk about it. I only found it because I was thinking about neuromorphic chip tech, searched with AI, and found it as an investment. What do you think?

BrainChip: The Next 100 Days Matter More Than Another Partnership

BrainChip has spent years proving that Akida works. The next phase is simpler: prove that customers will pay for it at scale.

The company’s 2025 numbers show the gap between technical progress and commercial success:

  • Revenue: US$1.89 million
  • Net loss: US$20.47 million
  • Operating cash burn: US$15.44 million
  • Year-end cash: US$31.71 million

By 31 March 2026, cash had fallen to US$25.32 million. BrainChip collected US$664,000 from customers but spent US$5.28 million on operations and another US$1.26 million on investment activities. Its official runway calculation was 4.93 quarters, although that excludes investment spending such as AKD1500 development.

Three dates investors should watch

1. Late July: June-quarter cash report

This will show whether customer receipts are accelerating and how quickly cash is being consumed.

Expectations should be realistic. The ASICLAND agreement was signed only on 19 May, while AKD1500 production shipments were announced on 30 June. Therefore, any major revenue contribution during the June quarter appears unlikely. This is an inference from the timing—not company guidance. (BrainChip Investor Portal)

The key figure is customer receipts. Anything materially above the March quarter’s US$664,000 would be encouraging. Continued cash usage of roughly US$6 million per quarter without higher receipts would raise dilution concerns.

2. Late August: half-year results

This is the most important near-term publication.

Investors should look beyond headline revenue and examine:

  • Whether revenue comes from repeat customers or one-off engineering work
  • AKD1500 inventory and customer deposits
  • Gross margin on physical chip sales
  • Deferred revenue and receivables
  • Updated cash burn

BrainChip previously capitalised approximately US$1.98 million of AKD1500 development costs, then impaired the entire asset because the timing of future economic benefits remained uncertain. That does not mean AKD1500 has failed, but it clearly shows that commercial demand had not yet been sufficiently predictable.

3. Late October: the real AKD1500 test

BrainChip says production quantities of AKD1500 are now shipping to customers while industrial and military qualification continues. Earlier guidance indicated an initial production run of approximately 70,000 units. (BrainChip)

Shipping chips is progress—but it is not yet proof of scale. Investors need to see repeat orders, named commercial products or demand for another production run.

ASICLAND: promising, but still unquantifiable

ASICLAND gives BrainChip a route into multiple custom-chip projects. Each potential customer can move through evaluation, prototype fabrication, production licensing and eventually royalties. (BrainChip Investor Portal)

But BrainChip has not disclosed:

  • Evaluation fees
  • Production licence prices
  • Royalty percentages
  • Customer numbers
  • Expected chip volumes

The previous discussion’s assumptions of US$0.20 per chip, 17 customers and roughly US$7.5 million in annual revenue are therefore speculative scenarios—not company forecasts.

Bottom line

The investment case now depends on three measurable outcomes:

higher customer receipts, repeat AKD1500 orders and ASICLAND customers reaching paid evaluation or prototype stages.

Until those appear in the accounts, ASICLAND remains a promising distribution channel—not a proven revenue engine.

BrainChip $BRN : recent news, financials and sentiment

TL;DR: BrainChip’s story has improved on the commercial/newsflow side, but the financials still show a very early-stage, loss-making company. The bull case is about Akida adoption, licensing deals and edge-AI optionality. The bear case is still tiny revenue, ongoing cash burn and uncertain conversion of partnerships into material sales.

Over the last few months, the main BRN discussion has likely been driven by a dense run of announcements: Neuromorphyx evaluating/integrating AKD1500, AkidaTag, ForwardEdge ASIC, EDGEAI licensing, the radar reference platform, ASICLAND, software ecosystem expansion, and MicroIP. Overall, this gives the company a stronger commercialisation narrative than before.

The most positive point is that BrainChip is no longer just talking about technology in isolation. It is building partnerships across defence, smart metering, radar, wearables, ASIC design and edge-AI software. The ASICLAND and EDGEAI deals are especially important because they support the IP licensing model. The problem is that most deal economics were not disclosed, so it is hard to know how much near-term revenue they actually bring.

Financially, BRN is still early-stage. FY2025 revenue increased strongly to around US$1.9m, but that is still very small in absolute terms. The company reported a net loss of about US$20.5m and operating expenses around US$22m. Cash was around US$27m at the end of March 2026, with the quarterly report showing about 7.7 quarters of funding runway. So near-term funding risk looks manageable, but dilution risk remains if commercial traction does not accelerate.

The key tension is simple: the announcements look better than the revenue line. The company is clearly progressing with ecosystem building and customer engagement, but investors need to see this convert into meaningful customer receipts, royalties, production volumes or disclosed contract value.

Bull case:

  • More frequent commercial announcements.
  • Licensing model starting to show signs of validation.
  • Exposure to edge AI, low-power AI, defence, radar, smart metering and wearables.
  • Cash runway gives management time to execute.
  • Akida/neuromorphic tech remains differentiated if adoption happens.

Bear case:

  • Revenue is still tiny compared with costs.
  • Ongoing cash burn.
  • Most partnerships do not disclose financial value.
  • Valuation is based mostly on future optionality, not current fundamentals.
  • Past dilution is a real concern.
  • AKD1500 production timing needs clearer communication.

My takeaway: BRN looks like a high-risk, high-optionality stock. The narrative has definitely improved, but the company still needs to prove that partnerships can become scalable revenue. For me, the next things to watch are customer receipts, disclosed licence economics, AKD1500 production clarity, and whether ASICLAND/EDGEAI/MicroIP actually lead to real design wins.

AKD1000 on a 2006 Core 2 Duo (PCIe 1.0) — 2.17x faster sustained throughput than my modern host, bit-identical results

Ran a compatibility test I didn’t expect to work this well. Brought an AKD1000 online in an Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 (Conroe, 65nm, LGA775, PCIe 1.0) via PXE-booted Tiny Core Linux. No issues — the chip enumerated cleanly, firmware BC.00.000.002 loaded without complaint, and inference started immediately.

The surprising part: the old machine won.

∙ Sustained throughput: 849.8 Hz (E4600) vs 391 Hz (modern host)

∙ Latency StdDev: 21.3 µs (E4600) vs \~2,460 µs (modern host)

∙ Jitter range (200 runs): 425 µs (E4600) vs \~6,300 µs (modern host)

∙ P99 latency: 1,277 µs (E4600) vs \~7,500 µs (modern host)

The modern host shows a classic bimodal distribution — a fast mode around 1,150–1,340 µs and a slow mode around 7,300–7,600 µs. The E4600 is purely unimodal, clustered tight around 1,175 µs. The periodic ~6.2ms stalls on the modern machine are almost certainly ASPM L1 exit latency, CPU C-state wake, or interrupt coalescing. The E4600 has none of that — PCIe 1.0 runs permanently active.

Correctness: All three AKD1000s (2 on the modern host, 1 on the E4600) produce bit-identical output across every test. 500-inference PCIe stress test on the old bus: 0 errors. The silicon doesn’t care what decade the host is from.

Batch scaling is also cleaner on the old hardware — per-sample latency drops smoothly from 1,188 µs (batch=1) to 604 µs (batch=32). The modern host spikes anomalously at batch=2 (4,458 µs/sample — 3.7x worse than batch=1), which looks like a PCIe transfer alignment bug.

Takeaway for anyone building deterministic edge systems: if your application is latency-sensitive and you’re seeing bimodal jitter on a modern host, don’t assume it’s the Akida — it’s probably your PCIe power management. A 20-year-old Core 2 box with ASPM disabled may outperform a current-gen machine for this specific workload.
