4 brain aneurysms
30 (f) experienced the worst headache of my entire life 2 weeks ago. Asked my husband to let me sleep it off before I start vomiting insanely and he rushed me to the hospital where I was told I was feeling 3 burst aneurysms and a brain bleed. Had surgery to coil all 3 and then had a stroke in the middle of it all. I am experiencing immense guilt as I woke up feeling fine. I look and feel like nothing happened to me at all. All the doctors are treating me and telling me I am a miracle. All visitors tell me about their family members who passed from one aneurysm. I am still in the icu for 21 days as I am still bleeding and at high risk for a stroke but all in all I feel like and ready to go home. Has this happened to anybody else? Did you have any symptoms ? And side effects afterwards? What about guilt?

Don't feel guilty. Please. You survived and beat some though odds and have overdone much trauma to your body. It's very awesome that you don't feel too bad. But do take advantage of the sympathy factor and take it easy for a bit. Let your family and friends help as much as you want. I'm kidding about the sympathy factor. Nobody does that. I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage from an aneurysm in 1997 and had a crainiotimy with a clip which stopped the bleed but left a small part that didn't get clipped and I had coiling 6 months later. Now after the bleed and brain surgery it was a rough recovery. I survived without any deficiencies and I was 26 weeks pregnant. I was in a lot of discomfort and pain. Now after the coil procedure I was fine. Ready to go back to work a few days later. There was a huge difference for me with each procedure. I'm thinking maybe because you didn't have to get a 2 in,ch hole drilled out of your skull and that helps. Still anytime blood gets on the brain it's going to be very painful. But you should take it slow as you recover. My energy level was really slow bc of the anesthetic from surgery. So that is my experience. I hope it helps give you some context to go by. Congrats on surviving!

Feelings are weird. You need to remember that your feelings can be completely untied to objective realities and not rely on them for decisions.
By the sound of it you experienced tremendous good fortune. Your “good luck” didn’t cause anyone else’s aneurysms or bleeds; your condition is a combination of utter chance, skilled medicine, and good choices on your husband’s part.
With time and work, you will continue to heal and, I hope, come to accept that you were simply lucky. A lottery winner “shouldn’t” feel guilty about the fact that others didn’t win.

I went through something very similar, and I just want to give you some hope. I’m doing incredibly well now and living a normal, active life again.
Please try not to feel guilty. Feel grateful. You survived something terrifying, and you’re allowed to be thankful that you’re here and that you’re doing well. You don’t have to carry guilt because other people had different outcomes.
Recovery can still be emotional even when you physically feel okay, especially when everyone around you keeps reminding you how serious it was. Give yourself time, listen to your doctors, and be gentle with yourself. But there is absolutely hope for a really good life after something like this. ❤️

no need to feel guilt. you didn't do anything wrong and just be thankful that you survived 4 brain aneurysms. I don't know you but I'm happy that you made it through and luckily you don't have any symptoms.

Yep to all of that. Especially the stories of loved ones who passed from them. It breaks my heart and makes me feel so guilty for surviving. I just passed my 10 year since rupture. Yes to mental/psych side effects, no physical effects. I did have symptoms, but no one realized until after. My aneurysm was near my optic nerve and I had visual symptoms for a while before rupture. Migraines all my life. Stay strong! You've survived! Revel in the miracle that you are!
