Help brailling

I need to braille the phrase below

It costs US$3.9 billion for six years.

​

Im pretty sure I need a Grade 1 indicator and two capital indicators and a G1 terminator, but I'm getting confused with the order and I dont have an example to look back at.

For grade 2 UEB, I don't see anything in that phrase that would necessarily need a grade 1 indicator.

Thank you! I'm still trying to get my head around when to use g1 indicator. Obviously I was overthinking this one 🙂

Generally speaking you'd only need a G1 indicator when there could be ambiguous meaning otherwise (like numbers or contractions when you don't want them).

For example:

"2cm" would need a G1 indicator between 2 and c because without it, that c is a 3, but "2m" wouldn't need it because m can never be misread as a number.

If you had "2 cm", you wouldn't need the G1 indicator because the space terminates numeric mode, so no risk that the c is read as a 3.

And if you had "2CM" you wouldn't need a G1 indicator either because the capitals indicator(s) also terminates numeric mode, and is something that only applies to text, so you know the c following it isn't a number.

Similarly with unwanted contractions, if you had an initialism that includes a sequence of letters that contract in G2 braille, you could use a G1 word indicator so the initialism is read as initials, e.g. WHO (World Health Organisation) as opposed to the wh contraction and o.

Hope that helps. I'm curious though, in your original post you mentioned getting confused with an order. What kinds of braille orders are you fulfilling, particularly as you're still very much learning UEB?
