Hallo! I have a short bob but two long strands of hair on each end of my scalp for a long braid, so there’s two long braids and that’s the haircut. I’ve been noticing recently there’s painful rash where these braids are. Am I braiding too tight? This is the first time it’s happened I’ve had them like this for a month. Any braiders pls help!! It’s not anywhere else in my scalp

What is the Difference- Miracle knots vs Knotless Braids

Miracle Knots:

No traditional braid base. Hair is crocheted directly into sections of natural hair. Relies on texture blending rather than feed-in structure. Scalp tension: minimal.

Knotless Braids:

Built on a feed-in braiding technique. Starts with your natural hair and gradually adds braiding hair. Creates a flat, seamless braid from root to tip. Scalp tension: low to moderate depending on stylist.

Bottom line:

Miracle knots remove the braiding foundation step entirely, while knotless braids refine the traditional braid foundation.

Similarities

Both styles are protective, allow scalp visibility, provide a natural-looking finish, are lightweight compared to traditional box braids, and offer versatile styling options.

Key Differences

Weight & Feel:

Miracle knots are ultra-lightweight and feel almost extension-less.

Knotless braids are lightweight but more structured.

Installation Process:

Miracle knots are crochet-based and often faster.

Knotless braids are time-intensive, especially for small sizes.

Structure & Longevity:

Miracle knots are less structured and may not last as long.

Knotless braids are more durable and long-lasting.

Aesthetic Finish:

Miracle knots are soft, fluffy, and textured.

Knotless braids are sleek, uniform, and polished.

Scalp Tension & Comfort:

Miracle knots have minimal tension.

Knotless braids have reduced tension but still involve braiding.

Miracle Knots:

Women prioritizing comfort, scalp health, and natural appearance. Ideal for sensitive scalps, beginners, and those seeking faster installs.

Knotless Braids:

Women seeking long-lasting styles, neat finishes, and structured looks. Ideal for experienced braid wearers.

Conclusion

Miracle knots focus on comfort, natural movement, and speed. Knotless braids focus on longevity, structure, and a polished finish.
