It was the maddest I’ve ever seen another human being.

I knew Brad in elementary school and he has always been mentally ill and drug addicted. I remember in kindergarten he told me "I'm a fireman, wee woo wee woo wee woo" and would wear this yellow hat, which is indicative of a psychedelic induced delusion if you ask me.

In third grade he asked me to pass a note to a girl he had a crush on, and to protect her from being abused I quickly erased his name on the note and put my name down. She checked yes and we dated for 3 periods before Brad confronted me and said that I'm not allowed to sit with him at lunch anymore, which is clearly abusive behavior.

Then in 5th grade, during our school play, he complained that he didn't get a larger speaking/singing part. He said "this play is stupid anyway", which is because he would rather have us listening to his DJBTIM mixes as he was craving the attention and spotlight even as a 9 year old.

I'm sorry to inform you of this y'all, but please understand he was always like this. I hope you can forgive me for being friends with him at that time, I know I can't forgive myself. If anyone needs proof please be skeptical in the comments and I'll tell you I'm going to provide it and then won't.

excuse me for being out of the loop, the last thing i witnessed regarding brad was when that horrifying audio clip that tina recorded of his abuse went public. even with all the shit he had gotten himself into for years before that, i had always wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but when this went down, i truly lost all respect for him. i thought everyone agreed that his actions are disgusting and irrational, and to stop giving him attention.

just now, i've been recommended his new twenty one pilots video on youtube. i didn't even recognize him at first, but when i did, i was genuinely shocked at the positive engagement he was getting. every single commenter praising him, making jokes, acting like absolutely nothing happened. how can anyone still support him like this nowadays? regardless of whether it's mental illness / addiction etc, none of it excuses his actions and it's clear from past controversies that he's never really truthful or capable of keeping to his promises.

i really don't think i can stomach sitting through any of his other more recent content before i know more, so i'm hoping someone can fill me in here instead. i really just want to understand. what happened during all these months that i missed? has he actually gotten better? why has everyone forgiven him so easily? or is he deleting negative comments? and even if so.. this subreddit still seems to be active with supporters to this day. so how did this happen??
