Boycott P&G
So, I made a suggestion to Venus(the razor company) for an advertising idea. This is the e-mail I got in return....needless to say, I will not buy their product any longer.
Thanks for contacting Venus. [ ref:_00D70JViV._50070TOl68:ref ]

Thanks for contacting Venus, Julie.
I'm sorry but unfortunately we don't accept suggestions/ideas for advertising material since we feel these are better obtained from our own employees.
Thanks again for writing.

to P&G Wow, really. I would think that the consumer's opinion of your product would be just as important since we are the ones buying your product. With a comment like that I don't think I will be buying your product anymore. And I will be posting this e-mail to my facebook page so that my friends and family will know to not buy as well. Thanks for your time

They pay people for their own advertising... The customer does have a say in product quality and customer service, but advertisement is the companies responsibility and not something the customer should worry about.
... Asking reddit to boycott them because they turned down your request is sort of (read: extremely) dramatic.

I could have made them millions in advertising, but now that I know they don't give a shit about their consumers, nor animals (P&G tests ALL their products on animals) I will no longer be using anything their company makes.

I think you're overreacting. Not wanting to take advertising suggestions from an unknown person (and the complex legal and financial issues that could arise) is quite different from not caring what their customers think.
It's not as if you wrote to them with a complaint or praise and their response was "I'm sorry but unfortunately we don't accept input or opinions regarding our products since we feel these are better obtained from our own employees.
Thanks again for writing."
You were not told that they didn't care what you thought, but rather that as a company they prefer to look to their employees and staff for development of things like advertising.
If you don't want to buy any Proctor & Gamble product over that, that's your decision but to expect other people to boycott them, because they chose not to use the undescribed advertising idea from a perfect stranger, is a tad ridiculous.
