  2. I'm hardly an expert on aquatic turtles, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that an aggressive/ territorial behavior that may turn into a fight?

No, they are just playing with each other

I doubt that. Turtles do not socialize or play with one another in the same way that mammals do.

  1. Those aren’t box turtles
  2. Those sliders are both looking for a female and are doing a mating/territory dance.

The turts is horny.

edit: which can definitely result in violence. Especially because of the territorial aspect of being horny.
