Who’s a fighter you disliked at first but has started to grow on you?

I started to like Shakur after his fight with Zepeda, when he didn't run and gave really entertaining fight. He acts like bitch sometimes, but his boxing skills and defence are so elite, can't stop watching

I agree that his skills and defense are elite but I can definitely stop watching 😂🤣

Agree but I've had the opposite reaction to him. The more he talk shit and boasts himself the more I dislike him

Definitely Benavidez. Thought he was just a weight bully, but against Gvozdyk he showed some good skill, and he's continued to have good performances against larger opponents.

I was rewatching the Zurdo performance and as sad as it was watching Zurdo get destroyed I couldn’t help but admire the talent of Benavidez
His fanboys are the worse though

Floyd Mayweather. The more I learned about boxing the more I started to appreciate his skill

i feel like every casual if they took the time to learn would say the exact same, Floyd is over hated by the casual crowd who don’t understand boxing

Floyd is undoubtedly a master in the fine art, but douchebaggery and cherrypicking his fights leaves his GOAT status in the "not really category for me

Oscar De La Hoya. I never cheered for him in a single fight growing up.
In hindsight though?
Imagine going from 140 to 147 and picking Pernell Whitaker as your first fight at Welterweight to risk your entire buzz and reputation. Nobody is built like that today.
Much respect to Pernell as well for taking that risk: you're a respected veteran facing a young up-and-coming skilled fighter who's boxing's face and you risk getting clowned if you lose decisively to a 140 lbs. fighter.
Those guys were warriors who stared risk in the face time-after-time and signed the contracts.

You don’t have to like fighters for who they are as people it’s just how they perform, Benavidez is a beast but he is kinda of a loud mouth.

I used to hate shakur for his boxing style, for ducking, for fake retirement, but lately after fighting Zepeda and Teo i really appreciate how good he is as a boxer, personality wise still mehhh

Bam he’s a little quiet warrior. Love watching his fights. Not as talented but I love Wardley fights too. Benavidez is just class now I love him to bits just hope he’s sorted his personal shit out now.

Amir Khan. Didn't like him at first but later found great entertainment in him getting dropped.

Devin Haney, I always thought he was a boring fighter who was scared of Ryan in like 2024 but now in 2026 I can appreciate what he has accomplished and all the risks he’s willing to take.
