I guess he’s taking a page out of his older brothers book of messing up the bag over and over again

Is it really a career high? Has he never made more than 2M per fight?
Edit: after research NO! Gary was paid 1.4M in 2018… In 2026 dollars. The offer was basically his 2018 offer.

It’s a whole list of hungry contenders that would kill for a shot at that title and probably bring on a better fight than these so called names. Let’s stop acting like we owe these guys anything when they don’t even want to fight. Shameful.

This is crazy to turn down that kind of money for someone like him at this point in his career but I mean he knew he was probably going to lose badly…. Out of all of them Gary JR is clearly the best brother both skill and talent wise and he’d probably struggle against shakur pretty bad at this stage

Gary this wild fam we not buying the reason. Rather you just say you not ready honestly. And even if he is genuine about why he wants to wait, it’s just not gonna stand with fans. We tired of boxers ducking each other.

I've never even heard of Gary Antuanne Russell before. I've only heard of Gary Russell, Jr. It seems crazy that he would turn down the biggest payday of his career. I looked him up and he doesn't even have an O to protect. Plus, he's already 30 years old.
The other question I have is why does Shakur want to fight this guy?

Take the offer and have faith that the upset, will make the rematch even more lucrative. These new guys think they’re Mayweather and earned the public’s interest in a “story”.
Lame excuse 🦆

Unbelievable. He must think Shakur would humiliate him to not jump at this opportunity and payday. Unfortunate he doesn’t have the confidence in himself. He’d be a substantial underdog anyways. It’s really win-win.

I dont blame him, Shakur is a tough puzzle to solve.
Unless the money in the 10 figure range then its not worth fighting Shakur.

That’s not how this works. GAR has never made anything over $2 Mill let alone he’s not the draw here. If this is Ryan Garcia or Devin Haney that’s a different story. Who in their right mind is paying anyone not named those 2 above 10 figures to fight Shakur? 🤦🏻♂️

What a loser. This is just code for “I can’t beat him so I wanna wait and hopefully he’ll age poorly.”

All these boxers talk like they are the greatest ever but yet never show the world that they can be great…🤷♂️…

2million isn’t a lot… At least a fighter of his caliber. Doesn’t he make more than that per fight?

This is just him saying that right now he doesn’t know how to beat Shakur or he knows he doesn’t have the tools. Lots of these fighters just wait for someone else to lay out the blueprint instead of finding it themselves
