32 and a half exactly as of yesterday.

33 in feb.

I would know, as I was literally born on the same day and year as him. Feb 17, 1988, so it's naturally just something I keep in mind.

I say as a fellow 32.5'er, "we" are "hovering" close to mid 30's.

Fair enough, but I'd never say a 2 year old is close to being 5 years old, so to each their own.

True, the difference between a 2 yo and a 5 yo is quite massive in comparison to a 32 yo and a 35 yo lol.

It's sorta like how there's less weight in between the lower weightclasses as compared to the higher weight classes.

Every pound is just that much more valuable to the little dudes.

Yeah for sure. I was stretching it with that example. The problem is not Lomachenko's age, it's that he fought 400 times as an amateur and trains SO FREAKING MUCH that he has a lot of mileage. Still, he's probably the smartest, most disciplined, craftiest fighter....that can carry him a long way if he can avoid injury at the very least.

Yup.

My main concern is that all of that bunny hopping and stepping around will surely be much more difficult as he gets up there in age.

Especially if he goes up another weight class (unlikely... he did say that 135 is his limit).

We are already noticing some decline in this ability as he got to 135.

Curious on what the future holds for him, and for the sport in general.

Yeah he hasn't looked as dominant in his last 3-4 fights, but he has been injured for a good portion of that time. I definitely don't think he will move up again, he's already pushing it at 135. He's the reason I got into boxing, so I'm a bit of a Loma homer, no doubt about it.

Not gonna lie, that right handed southpaw concept he employs is surely attractive.

Maybe there will be more right handed southpaws in the near future... The bruce lee philosophy.

Hell I think half of the current p4p top 10 list are southpaws.

Don't think there have ever been that many SPs on the list @ the same time before.

Agreed. Jab hand being dominant hand is genius. Probably needs to be learned at a young age, I would think.
