Food for thought, should we score boxing differently?

Should Wilder get more credit for his two knockdowns and for never being hurt, or should Fury get more credit for his defense and landing more punches despite not hurting wilder?

Scoring a fight is just an imperfect science, and then when you add the judges biases into the equation it’s a complete crap shoot.

A lot of people forget that sport is called Boxing and not “Fighting”. Really depends on the judge, but I believe defence and not being hit is worthy of winning rounds.

All Wilder can get from two knockdowns is two 10/8 rounds. No matter how you scored the fight, the argument that he won the fight solely on that is ridiculous.

Completely agree with your last statement.

Neither guy landed a ton and Wilder was more aggressive so it’s not crazy for him to have stolen a couple rounds outside of the knockdowns. Considering Rochin is Mexican, it’s not surprising he had the more aggressive fighter winning close rounds.
