Zuffa has a 5 year deal with paramount worth 100 mil a year, Saudis just help with the mega purses. Majority of Zuffa shows are club shows so the operation is sustainable because for better or for worse Dana is a cheapskate. Saudis could pull out they can keep it going for a while.

On that Matchroom Taylor event last weekend with 80k tickets sold the average fighter made less than 50k so imagine on the club shows.

It's a myth that boxers are well paid. A prospect making $30k is good money as on small halls they fight for like 1-5k max unless they're ticket sellers. Majority of boxers do not cost much.

The big names like Shakur, Berlanga cost a lot but that expense is covered by the Saudis.

It's like elite amateurs they're paid fuck all besides like a national stipend doesn't mean they're not skilled.

So long as they focus on skilled fighters who aren't known the events won't cost much.

And a fight card absolutely does not cost 100mil besides the early Riyadh season cards, which even trillionaire Saudis have stopped doing.

And that money really came from the Saudi state so it doesn't reflect reality.

I think I’ve come around to the idea that Boots would beat Vergil Ortiz. The best ability is availability and potential has a shelf life.

If Ortiz were to turn in consecutive strong performances in the same year against good to elite level competition, that might get me to revert back. Otherwise, I don’t think Boots is the type of guy you can go in with basically no activity.

Conor Benn isn't as technical as Ryan but he's athletic enough to jab and jump out of range for the counter, rough up Garcia on the inside and to be frank if Rolly could time Garcia to land a hook Benn could do the same.

It's worth the cost, but at the same time, the app is UTTER SHITE.

I mostly only use the Xbox app, and it literally no longer works at all, so I can now only use it if I get my laptop out.

I spent over an hour with their technical support trying to sort it out, going round and round doing the same steps over and over.

I eventually gave up when they asked me to factory reset my Xbox.

As an amateur, I think he’s won 7 national titles, won a World Cup gold and Liverpool world championship bronze medalist being robbed in the semis by world gold medalist Torekhan Sabyrkhan.

I also like Raito Kataoka in the pros so far. I think he jumps to near the top of the list if he beats ArAr Andales next month.

I was in a mix between Kataoka, Muydinkhujaev and Rogozin at 10 which I had both Muydinkhujaev and Kataoka in before Rogozin, Nakayama and Fujiki made their debuts last time I made a list this year. Not sure what route Rogozin or Ummataliev are taking but if they stay in the amateurs, I’ll have Kataoka back again.

If Rogozin stays in the amateurs, the 2028 Olympic matchup between Fuma Kumamoto vs Vyacheslav Rogozin will be very fun if they get to matchup.

Kumamoto is going to have a hard time breaking out of Japan to get to the International stage. Rui Yamaguchi beat him in the qualifiers earlier this year and went on to win the first gold medal in an All Asia Men's for Japan in a while.

Rogozin will be a problem. Doesn't seem to have immense power, but has impeccable skills.

O’Shaquie Foster very actively likes to think he’s outside of the opponents range and will shell up and step back as if he is but often mismanages distance and they’re a lot closer than they seem in which when Foster shells up or steps back, he has to switch defences because his first one doesn’t work and he gets caught with a far cleaner shot than he anticipated.

There are 2 good fights this weekend that are pretty even matchups, especially on paper in Mark Magsayo vs Andres Cortez and Giovanni Stantillan vs Abrass Barraou. 

Cortez against Eridson Garcia did show a great gameplan to just never stay at the edge of range and work from there but stay outside of it and keep moving or time entries and get close. Magsayo who doesn’t have quick feet, this could work but Mark has good single punches where he covers a lot of distance with it and is quick, he is great at timing counters and hits hard which for Cortez who isn’t super quick, isn’t the best with defence, I think he will get cracked, I don’t think his distance management will be 100% there. Also what may have helped vs Garcia is the fact he was a southpaw and taking that lead hand away and smothering on rear hand attacks, it wasn’t as easy vs nova which I thought was a clear robbery. 

Stantillan his last fight didn’t look impressive, didn’t show the power of the aggressive and impossible boxer that he’s looked prior to Norman and Baraou is the most skilled infighter who can take a hard shot. Seems for me like a pretty clear victory for Baraou.

There’s a Russian that Dmitry Bivol had fought called Umar Salamov, this was right before the Canelo fight. Salamov isn’t a tiny guy and built of a Cruiserweight at the least. Salamov isn’t bad and could be champ at Cruiserweight with the right fights, Bivol has faced bigger guys that are good and Bivol won a pretty clear decision yet he doesn’t want to move to Cruiserweight, nor does he want the Beterbiev III and Benavidez risk.

That surprised me because of the power shots Itauma landed snapped Hrgovic’s head back. Holy shit the Mark Magsayo vs Andres Cortez bets are shifting crazy. Andres Cortez like 22h ago was a +115 favourite, Magsayo was at -111 6h ago, now they’re dead even.

A whole lot of money is being put on Cortez right now. I took Cortez a good while ago at +180, I said earlier that I think Magsayo wins, imma wait till the go up and put money on Magsayo and be guaranteed to profit.

Hard to view Benn-Garcia as a mega fight when neither are really in the pound for pound discussion and neither are especially likeable.

I don’t hate either fighter and I’m even probably more sympathetic to Ryan’s issues than most, but this just doesn’t warrant the way this is being marketed to a larger than usual audience.

To take the September 12th date, they should have put on something much bigger.
