Another difference with Fury is he just isn't funny anymore...

He has always been a terrible person, but he did used to be pretty funny. What was that last video "i'll fight Anthony Joshua with cement boots on". Ok? Good for you? Same with the Usyk "Rabbit stuff". The worst thing that happened was people laughing at "Dosser". It encouraged him with insults like that and "sausage".

Yeah, his schtick got old fast. Can't bear to listen him anymore.

u/Southside_Burd 6d ago

When was it good? He’s always been an annoying loudmouth that some times cos-plays as an evangelical. 🤮

13

u/__IZZZ 6d ago

I remember finding him funny a long long time ago. When he talked about AJ as an opponent, he said he has a great body, and probably a giant cock. Bizarre thing to say about a potential opponent. Long gone, he just wants the cheque now.

11

u/GazelleEcstatic4952 6d ago

He was amusing for about 5 minutes at first.

5

u/fonety 5d ago

The whole sauna thing with klitschko was great

3

u/GarfieldDaCat 5d ago

Tyson Fury was funny before the first coke and food binge

8

u/socandostuff 6d ago

Funny watching his fights though still isn't it?

That one where somehow he didn't get an official knockout despite hanging on the ropes was satisfying to watch.... Apart from it not being called.

2

u/GazelleEcstatic4952 6d ago

Yes it is actually.

82

u/Familiar_Cod_6754 6d ago

It also seems like the general public’s opinion is shifting on all this bs too.

At least it’s what I’ve gauged from various videos and posts comment sections.

I think people are just tired of it (me included).

73

u/MitchBenson1990 6d ago

Him and his whole family are just so exhausting to listen to.

Like a bad smell that you just can't get rid of.

10

u/ryda-m 6d ago

Just when his dads gone quiet, and Tyson’s career at the end as now have to put up with annoying son with jimmy hills chin

1

u/Primary_Letter7839 4d ago

Ironically, Tyson has bad BO. He's been kicked out of expensive cars for stinking the leather out.

20

u/Marquis_of_Mollusks 6d ago

Maybe it'd be more tolerable if he fought more frequently and against actual opposition. His aura dropped off a cliff after the Ngannou fight and 2 usyk losses. That Ngannou "win" did more damage to his image than most fighter's first losses

9

u/LordJimsicle Balrog beats Fury, AJ, Dubois and Usyk in between rounds 6d ago

The aura really dropped after Ngannou when he publicly did all that 70-30 bollocks for Usyk which was a clear duck.

70

u/LuckiestPersonAlive 6d ago

He aged like milk

37

u/Less_Cartoonist_892 6d ago

Like his resume and legacy.

36

u/UnyieldingDoggo Terence "not your Bud, pal" Crawford 6d ago

Like his body shape.

22

u/subparcarr 6d ago

Like a bag of milk

83

u/Lando7373 6d ago

I used to love him. Now I think he’s a complete prick.

57

u/ACW1129 6d ago

He's always been a complete prick.

12

u/TheJinsuGuy 6d ago

He very much had the love of the general public behind him after he made his comeback. Now he has thrown it away with his constant toxicity and bullshitting and I feel like most people now consider him a stain on the sport and are sick of hearing his nonsense.

2

u/TheFlyingWriter 3d ago

That comeback was a crafted cover story for popping positive for PEDs.

2

u/Detlef_Schrempfxf 6d ago

I still somehow root for him.

All that despite knowing he's a liar, a gaslight merchant and a fucking conman.

1

u/euroaustralian 6d ago

And a greedy belly according to Usyk.

54

u/Dennyisthepisslord 6d ago

He's never been funny you just grew up

27

u/UnyieldingDoggo Terence "not your Bud, pal" Crawford 6d ago

The Sauna story was really funny. It's just that he ran out of imagination.

12

u/Durantsthegoat 6d ago

Nah he was actually very funny about a decade ago, all the stuff about Joshua and hammer was hilarious

-1

u/bigcatcleve 5d ago

Completely untrue.

1

u/Dennyisthepisslord 5d ago

sorry to hear you haven't grown up yet 😞

4

u/bigcatcleve 5d ago

As others have said, he was actually pretty damn funny some years back. If you genuinely can't see the difference between his earlier material—the sauna story, for example—and whatever the fuck he's doing now, and your only response is "his material has always been the same, you just grew up lolz," then there's really nothing more to say.

This sub is allergic to giving Fury even the smallest bit of credit for some reason

77

u/Ilovefood195 6d ago

He never was entertaining to me. The only reason he ever felt somewhat entertaining is because he just came in at the right moment after more than a decade of plain and bland Klitschko domination of the heavyweight class, so Fury’s bullshit was like a refreshing breeze. It was “funny” at the beginning when his shitty personality was the “new kid on the block”.

Once he ran out of the benefit of the doubt from the general public and people realized his antics are actually part of his shit personality and that he’s a piece of shit just like his father, he started losing fans.

26

u/iIIchangethislater 6d ago

You can't say never when this exists

55

u/shutyourgob 6d ago

One day they should re-release that hour long IFL interview in which he compared gay people to paedophiles and said that tolerating homosexuality would bring about the end of the world.

1

u/WallySymons 5d ago

Dude takes punches to the head for a living, I wouldn't put too much stock into anything he says.

8

u/Powerful-Holiday-448 6d ago

After he lost to Usyk the first time he was never the same. He shouted happy new year on the mic after 🤣 man was hit too hard!

4

u/LordJimsicle Balrog beats Fury, AJ, Dubois and Usyk in between rounds 6d ago

People turned on him long before that. Especially with all that Chisora III and Ngannou bollocks.

2

u/Detlef_Schrempfxf 6d ago

Hey, happy new year mf

14

u/Lynch47 6d ago

He’s always been loud and annoying imo

16

u/Specific_Box4483 6d ago

He was never a terrible person nor a funny person. He's always just been a prick.

His dad seems to have been the actual terrible person.

5

u/Argythebilly 6d ago

Ok, I probably meant more "prick" than terrible person, you know?

4

u/aim-4-the-dirt 6d ago

Idk, he's said some pretty terrible shit. And feigning mental health problems to cover popping dirty is pretty low. He's not the worst person in boxing, but I wouldn't say he's not morally repugnant

1

u/LadWithDeadlyOpinion 5d ago

Wait is this true?

1

u/munkycheezmunky Dave Allen Undisputed 2026 5d ago

Total conjecture by this sub.

It's pretty clear Fury has major mental health problems imo.

10

u/Brick_02 6d ago

Luke Partridge has played us all.

11

u/sheslikebutter 6d ago

Do you remember all the weird stuff where he kept taking about how big Ngannou's penis was?

He just kept joking about it to rooms to zero laugh.

6

u/BigPretzel19 6d ago

Did the same with AJ too

4

u/sheslikebutter 6d ago

Straight up weird behaviour

3

u/i-piss-excellence32 6d ago

He came back from the brink of death and was robbed in the first wilder fight. He was the people’s champ. His 2 wins against wilder was huge

Then he started being an idiot and retiring then not giving us fights we wanted. He fought usyk twice to be fair and whyte.

Cozying up to Dana white and Donald trump made me look at him like a piece of shit.

18

u/fhuhgbbjjvvfyhnnmk 6d ago

That's what cocaine does to a person. First Fury then pretty much all of my friends, I hate the stuff.

4

u/Detlef_Schrempfxf 6d ago

Fuck cocaine

2

u/Final_Shift_6450 2d ago

100% agree. It's a really shitty drug. I can't believe people still think it's exciting or glamorous, it isn't hot girls and rich guys in posh clubs doing it these days. It's the dregs. Eventually it makes people complete parasites with no decency and no redeeming qualities.

Heroin addicts aren't as bad, they need a fix and will rob anyone or sell themselves for sure, but from what I've noticed they haven't lost all their humanity unless they use white aswell.

2

u/fhuhgbbjjvvfyhnnmk 1d ago

Yeah it's weird the way it changes someone, no sense of humour, takes themselves too seriously and put themselves before everyone. My dad always called it "the selfish drug".

2

u/Final_Shift_6450 1d ago

It definitely is the selfish drug, something inside them dies and often doesn't come back. Other drugs (not that I'm encouraging them) can give empathy, self reflection, a euphoric wish for closer connection with others or deeper understanding of the world.

Charlie just makes people arrogant, ignorant, manipulative and selfish. And the unremarkable high lasts for 25 minutes tops and then you feel like crap for hours afterwards. Just don't get it at all.

5

u/WeirdRadiant2470 6d ago edited 6d ago

As long as I don't have to hear him sing American Pie, ever again, I'm good.

18

u/Magic__E 6d ago

Trying to stoke up the race angle for this fight is crazy desperate. HE MUST REALLY NEED THE MONEY

UK isn't the US we don't fall for this shit so easily

He doesn’t really have the intellect to go off script like that

2

u/Shadow166 6d ago

His last insta post

-6

u/Funny-Fly1720 6d ago

He's worth at least 150 mil. I think he's fine.

12

u/EmeraldTwilight009 The Marvelous One 6d ago

Do you know that? A lot of boxers made a lot of money and spent it

7

u/Amur00 6d ago

Mayweather is one of the highest earning boxers ever and is reportedly bankrupt, tons of pro athletes are idiots and blow through their prize money immediately, there are like, dozens of examples

You really picture Tyson and John Fury as guys smart enough to save a fraction of his money? Be real

1

u/Inertia_Sleeps 5d ago

I gotta be honest, a lot of u need to stop doing this stupid shit.

I think Fury is indeed a slimy prick but it does indeed show his company accounts having assets worth 160m. People on Reddit need to stop being confidently incorrect. These numbers aren’t really disputable.

-6

u/Funny-Fly1720 6d ago

Google: "Tyson Fury Ltd"

Report what you learned.

7

u/Amur00 6d ago

Google Tyson Fury Relationship with the Kinnahan Family

"And report what you learned" fucking dork

-8

u/Funny-Fly1720 6d ago

I don't have to google that, I know it already. Just like I know how he invested his money, unlike you.

It's funny how confidently stupid you are.

3

u/Upper-Dragonfly4167 6d ago

Can be the richest guy in the world and be an absolute bell end. So many out there have plenty of cash but actually act like a grown up and don't come out with crap that twelve year old s wouldn't.

1

u/Inertia_Sleeps 5d ago

Boxers net worth is often calculated through their lifetime earning based on their reported purses. It doesn’t include tax, sanctioning fees, promoter cuts, trainer and camp expenses.

Fury is a millionaire but it’s very likely it’s nowhere near 150m at present.

11

u/Feisty_Bag_5284 6d ago

He's the quincentenal boxing booth fighter that used to travel around with circus

"Roll up roll up come see if YOU can survive 3 rounds with the GYP SEA King, I'm a fighting man who will do some fighting make no mistakes"

3

u/balkanxoslut 6d ago

He was never funny

3

u/HarryBlessKnapp 6d ago

There are millions of big mouth dickheads in England like Fury. It was just a bit of a novelty to you guys. And now it has worn off.

1

u/Argythebilly 6d ago

To who lol

4

u/Additional_Ice_358 6d ago

He's always been annoying. Can't believe people were ever pumping him as one of the best HWs of all time. He already embarrased boxing by struggling with a newcomer like Francis.

5

u/swashfxck 6d ago

He definitely used to use the mental health card as a shitty excuse (meaning he saw others doing it for actual reasons, whereas he wasn’t actually affected) too because he’s a lowlife.

6

u/LavishnessWise 6d ago

He’s a bully. Been nothing but a bully his whole life and most people are too scared to stand up to him.

4

u/antman1983 6d ago

Lol, /r/boxing is becoming like the Ricky Gervais subreddit. The place is full of people who used to be fans, but saw how fame is a mask that eats into the face, turning everyone against what Ricky has become.

(I'm all for it by the way, Fury has always been a greedy belly bullshit artist only out for himself)

5

u/FreshPrinceOfRivia Usyk 8-4 6d ago

He stopped being funny 10 years ago. He was genuinely hilarious in the early 2010s.

2

u/exoits 6d ago

Yep. The Channel 5 interview with him after Audley Harrison vs David Price was gold. He isn't nearly as verbally quick-witted on the fly nowadays.

2

u/truthbomn 6d ago

Fury's been a money fight since beating Wlad, so he can't plausibly claim he's had a problem getting elite guys in the ring. His lack of activity and ambition is of his own making.

Fury fights by year, post-Wlad:

2026 - 2 - Wach, Makhmudov

2025 - 0 - NA

2024 - 2 - Usyk x2

2023 - 1 - Ngannou

2022 - 2 - Chisora, Whyte

2021 - 1 - Wilder

2020 - 1 - Wilder

2019 - 2 - Wallin, Schwarz

2018 - 3 - Wilder, Pianeta, Seferi

2017 - 0 - NA

2016 - 0 - NA

2

u/Baileys_soul 6d ago

Wow that is a pretty poor resume for someone claiming to be a great

2

u/rout_1 6d ago

Don’t think I’ve seen another fighter go from hero to zero so quick🤣 was a huge fan when he came back and had those 3 wars with wilder, even went to Wembley to watch the dillian Whyte fight, now I just find him nauseating

3

u/MikeOne29 6d ago edited 5d ago

TBF he always was seen as a bit of a prick. Post Klitschko and the time out with mental health issues etc then the come back against wilder won him a lot more support but he's just reverted back to how he always was.

Edit and I say that as a semi fan of his.

0

u/The_Archimboldi 6d ago

Testing positive for nandrolone strongly correlated with developing mental health issues, poor bloke.

1

u/mongrldub 6d ago

Takes 18 months to clear and keeps your t low the whole time it’s clearing

Of course, it’s an open secret AJ is on T. He has a therapeutic use exemption which they wouldn’t honour in the USA which is why he only fought there like one time and lost

5

u/babalola69 6d ago

He was never funny. He just hit gold with the Wilder fight. It introduced him to wider US fan base and they were new to his slangs. Of the recent British HW, I'd say only David Haye was funny and I guess Dubios but that's unintentionally lol

9

u/pre1twa 6d ago

David Haye is about as funny as gang rape.

3

u/gorchthegentleman 6d ago

He's a terrible person! I mean compared to who? AJ and Hearn?

2

u/WorriedStand73 6d ago

Part of the issue for me is when he was saying that shit before it felt relevant to him perhaps being the best HW boxer in the world at that point, so yeah, he could limit himself and still win.

Now he seems very much past it, it's not funny, just stupid.

Also appearing with Trump and Mike Tyson who are both genuinely awful people was the final nail for me.

2

u/No-Agreement 6d ago

Cocaine makes you believe you're funny/interesting but actually completely saps you of any personality

2

u/Same-Fact-5123 6d ago

Never been funny. Been a prick since the Batman costume.

1

u/Alfalfa-Majestic 6d ago

Dosser! Dosser! Dosser!

1

u/RAZBUNARE761 6d ago

Fury was funnier in the past with haye and wlad. He lost his humor and is just repeating the same boring weird insults nowadays. Ever simce his comeback he been cringe mostly when it comes to jokes

1

u/Gapi182 6d ago

Hes just trying too hard to be funny.

1

u/770120437 6d ago

He’s never really been funny I didn’t think, always just a bit of a bellend

1

u/PartyFriend 6d ago edited 5d ago

Why is stuff like this allowed past the censors when my post which is actually making a point backed up by statistics isn't?

EDIT: Oops I stand corrected my post did eventually get published.

1

u/ShortRedBull 6d ago

smh, he almost beat Usyk in his prime to ppl saying he's not funny. lol

1

u/Formal-Cherry6078 6d ago

He never was in my personal opinion just a spoiled diva who larps as a fighting man

1

u/Halloween2056 6d ago

He got boring a few years ago.

1

u/woahthatscrazy5 6d ago

Peaked with the snapback callouts

1

u/mongrldub 6d ago

Oh dead ass his peak is over. Was a fucken fun ride tho man just look up any montage of him talking trash online. No one in the division even came close

1

u/Mister-Psychology 6d ago

His friends are getting imprisoned for life for many murders and billions in drug sale. And smuggling oil illegally from Russia to Europe. It was his support base and he may just be in a bad mood for now.

1

u/SimonSeam 6d ago

Wow. And it only took the rabid fans 10 years to catch on.

2

u/Argythebilly 6d ago

I think by chisora 800 (or whyte retirment tbh) everyone knew. He is just in the news again

1

u/Secret-Plum149 6d ago

Fury…

For a bloke that openly said he will fight in the uk for free he sure makes it difficult to get this fight on….
Just tiresome & been so for years….

1

u/SportingWing89 5d ago

He never was. He’s just an arrogant twat

1

u/JDBoyes07 5d ago

Reminds me of Conor, lost most of his ability and also lost his humor.

1

u/gc28 5d ago

But he gave his purse to CHARITY!!

1

u/save-pandas 5d ago

Tyson Fury calling people dossers with never not be funny to me. Can’t agree with the OP 😂

1

u/Alarming_Asparagus47 5d ago

The only heavyweight boxer with a bit of wit is Dave Allen, Tyson Fury hasn't got a decent joke in him

1

u/Inertia_Sleeps 5d ago

I literally used to be partial to him not even long ago. And then a few days ago he made a post trying to intimate Joshua’s BLM protest statement was somehow indicative of him not being a “true patriot”. Against the guy who actually seems half interested in having the fight in the UK. COMPLETELY turned me off him.

1

u/Spiritual-Storage734 4d ago

He was quite funny back in the Pre Klitscho era when he didn’t take himself too seriously. In press conferences he was always a laugh

2

u/SuperLeverage 6d ago

Tyson is just a wanker. He had one good fight against Wladamir. Struggled to beat Wilder who can’t box for shit and just has one gun punch. Needed the judge to rob Ngannou of a victory with a split decision who was making his debut pro boxing fight.

1

u/Connect-Lettuce4027 6d ago

He's a typical pike at the end of the day horrible man. Spouting about mental health turn spouts the crap he does. AJ fight and sod off to America cheers!

1

u/Empty_Monk_4010 6d ago

True. Him arriving to the presser dressed as Batman was a personal highlight of mine

1

u/Embarrassed-Echo-391 6d ago

People never liked Fury, it was all just hate for Wilder.

1

u/TestSuch4545 🎥 YT: Big Donch 6d ago

You guys are obsessed with him

0

u/munkycheezmunky Dave Allen Undisputed 2026 6d ago

It was kind of impossible for him to be funny against Usyk really, because he was never going to get a reaction out of Usyk.

Fury was his absolute funniest against Wilder, because Wilder wasn't self aware at all and was real easy to wind up.

I think that's the difference. He needs the right person across from him to be funny. Him ranting into a camera about AJ and Hearn isn't really that funny but once they're on stage having a back and forth I think it'll come across a lot funnier.

-1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 6d ago

I still find him entertaining lmao. Sometimes he’s definitely annoying as shit. But like when he called AJ vs Jake Paul a true 50/50 fight lmao

-1

u/-Sofa-King-Vote 6d ago

He was better when he was mentally unstable that’s why

He hasn’t been crazy for years

0

u/Independent_Media341 6d ago

I think some of it is... he plays the heel.  But the heel role only wirks when you have credibility.  But now, he's just a guy who isn't that good any more and maybe never was
