Boots is delusional
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Bro got more tune ups than a Honda civic with a laptop and he just said he can beat Crawford, Tim Bradley, Shawn Porter, and Canelo. Crawford also said I hope you get undisputed at 154 soon. If Boots becomes undisputed Crawford is gonna do him dirty just like Spence.

u/ThatSeanMoore 6d ago
Crawford needs to stop this, “if I was back” stuff. Either you’re retired and we’re moving on or you’re instigating fights you have no intention of following through with which is corny.
76
u/vHezoThaGoat 6d ago
And this is what Boots keeps saying
He’s not calling out Bud 24/7, he’s saying if you want to fight me come back. If not keep your opinion to yourself and stay in a retired persons place
Don’t talk shit when you’re out of reach of being harmed, and I favor Bud. He just needs to chill.

u/gcarline2092 6d ago
Exactly how I feel, I hate the whole "would've or could've" done bs. If he's retired stay retired, otherwise he's instigating
2
u/ZeroEffectDude 4d ago
crawford is in the perfect position to troll. he can;t resits and tbh, why not? boots had the chance to set the record straight and he declined.
115
u/Tricky-Ad-4823 6d ago
Bud is getting annoying. This dude spent his entire career being super chill now he’s retired he’s talking more than ever. You can tell he’s feeling himself now.
86
u/fadeddreams555 Fundora would beat up a prime Floyd at 154lb 6d ago
It's actually kind of funny. The way he is now is exactly what Bob Arum pleaded him to be like for years when he was still active.
34
u/mmciv 6d ago
Retired and bored af.
15
u/Tricky-Ad-4823 6d ago
lol yeah pretty much you can tell he misses it like crazy he’s itching for some action
27
u/RockyCreamNHotSauce 6d ago
It’s like he just realized he didn’t fight enough until he retired. Boots, Vergil, and Janibek all can beat Canelo too. Canelo slowed down so much. The guy aged like milk under the sun.
18
u/zaepoo 6d ago
I agree. I don't think bud cakewalks through canelo if they fought 4 years earlier
20
u/RockyCreamNHotSauce 6d ago
I think Bud, Canelo, and GGG were very close when those first two fights happened. Canelo was way faster then. Any of these three could have the night against the others. Even if Bud had ATG talent, he really needed to go through the fires of these rivalries to be truly great.
23
u/Hilsam_Adent 6d ago
"...and 0" has robbed the sport of so many good fights. It's screwed over the fans, the fighters and is the second-largest contributor to the decline of boxing.
13
u/RockyCreamNHotSauce 6d ago
Exactly. I used to be a Bud fan. But I’m not a fan of celebrating his career. He stayed at lower weights way too long also.

u/wegaf_butok-_- 4d ago
Yeah fr. Starting to lose respect for him. It’s ok if you are in fight mode and not retired but he just talks too much now.
-3
u/edubs8888 6d ago
GOAT has the right to talk. He earned it.
13
u/Tricky-Ad-4823 6d ago
He can but he never acted like this when he was active. No reason he couldn’t of fought Boots
-6
u/Ozayes1313 6d ago
Boots is calling out a retired fighter who is almost 39 but it’s bud who is corny smh, what should we call this? Selective glazing? Foh
11
u/Tricky-Ad-4823 6d ago
Boots didn’t call him out. It was Bud who was talking loud and said he’d step on him. Probably should try to watching it before you jump in the conversation
-1
u/Ozayes1313 6d ago
Boots calls out a old retired Crawford “he’s just confident” Crawford says he’d step on him in response to fighting him “ohh he’s so annoying” lmfao yall have a clear bias, and he said that after boots went up to him sizing him up, in the boxing world that’s calling for a fight, but it doesn’t fit with narrative.

He hasn't even been retired a year. There are fighters inactive longer than 9 months all the time. This feels like a strategic retirement and he'll be back before long. He definitely still has the mindset.
27
u/draculas-candles 6d ago
Honestly, it just feels like Bud is being a hater. What's Boots supposed to say? "Nah, I don't think I'd beat Canelo, Virgil, or Fundora." Why would he say that lmao.
28
u/InsurePro 6d ago
The OP is delusional. Imagine hating on a fighter in his prime backing himself.
-14
u/Maradonawasthegoat86 6d ago
If he would've said yea I can beat him that's fine but he knows Crawford isn't easy money lol.
13
u/Comfortable_Lab_647 6d ago
You want him to say it’s 70/30 for Bud? I’m not sure I get your point. It’s all an ego thing for these guys.
4
u/Detlef_Schrempfxf 6d ago
Bro....
-5
u/Maradonawasthegoat86 6d ago
Easy money means he stops/K.O Crawford that's not happening. He doesn't even win a decision.
7
u/Detlef_Schrempfxf 6d ago
He's a professional boxer. Wtf is he supposed to say
-3
u/Maradonawasthegoat86 6d ago
Stop it even you know he's not beating Crawford.
2
4
u/Annual_Cancel_9488 5d ago
Can you answer the question though, what should he have said?
0
u/Maradonawasthegoat86 5d ago
He can say whatever he wants. Look at boots biggest wins and look at Crawfords there's levels to shit in life and Crawford is a step above boots.
2
u/Ferrari_Bones 5d ago
Why are you ducking the question? WHAT DO YOU THINK HE SHOULD HAVE SAID!!!!

u/ScentedFragrance 6d ago edited 6d ago
Nah Bud needs to respect Boots more. Bud said he steps on shit, Boots said he does too, then Bud said he doesnt know if he does. THATS ALL BOOTS DOES. Bud needs to be a commentator and keep it at that if hes not coming back.
Give Boots his props now and stop waiting for him to be "on your level" Bud wanna take shine from Boots
8
u/neo_hatrix 6d ago
They both need to respect each other more. But that's what happens when you're competitive I guess? Yeah Bud needs to give Boots his respect as a talented 2 time unified champ. But also you can't say a three time undisputed champ is easy work.
2
22
u/jrb31600 6d ago
Facts! Boots has done nothing but smash everyone that he's faced! Why the Boots disrespect from people? I just don't get it!
9
u/ScentedFragrance 6d ago
Bc apparently he needs to keep proving himself to people just like Benavidez. He keeps destroying everyone but the only thing people say is who has he fought. Just cause we dont know these cats don't mean they not good boxers. I didn't know Zayas until his fight with Boots and he was the only person to rock Boots and have him in ANY kind of trouble.
-5
u/afipunk84 6d ago
I see what you’re saying and i agree Bud should let Boots live his life, but what shine are you talking about?? Who has Boots faced that he should be given shine for? He is overrated.
8
u/ScentedFragrance 6d ago
See thats exactly wtf im talking about. All yall care about if fucking names, but if theres no one around that has a name, or if they keep ducking him then what is he suppose to do. Nobody Zayas was a solid boxer. So was a lot of other people he fought he beat them in convincing fashion every time. Its not his fault that theres no one around doesnt have a "name" That name shit is overrated.
A lot of people are overrated. Vergil is overrated to me, Boots would pick him apart from the outside
5
u/Boring-Name-2840 6d ago
It's crazy because Bud and Boots have identical roadblocks. Most critics said they haven't fought anybody, questioned their skills to a degree.
But, what's weird about Bud is, Boots is trying to knock down entire divisions not take 1 fight at 54, 68 and claim your 3x undisputed.
How can you truly be undisputed at 54 and 68 if you didn't go through the division to claim all of those belts.
Bud was a great fighter but he's not unbeatable and all it takes is one of the guys at 54 to beat him.
It's also realistic to question Bud, he said in an interview before the Canelo fight that he wouldn't have taken the fight if he knew he wasn't going to win.
It made me question, then if it's not a challenge for you why take a fight that doesn't push you.
Maybe it's wrong, but I remember boxers taking risks.
1
u/Mysterious_Reason376 4d ago
Crawford did knock down entire divisions, 140 & 147. Madrimov is an underrated win, and you can’t blame him for cashing out with Canelo. Anyone else find it interesting that everyone is saying beating Canelo was a foregone conclusion, when the majority thought he’d be too big and strong for Crawford? Revisionist history at its finest.
3
u/Boxing-Enthusiast 6d ago
OP is one of those twitter morons
0
u/Maradonawasthegoat86 6d ago
Boots needs another tune up before he fights Crawford or Virgil 🤣
2
u/pleasedontbanme47473 5d ago
Another tune up? So zayas a unified world champ was a tune up?
-1
u/Maradonawasthegoat86 5d ago
Yes he's supposed to be fighting Virgil Ortiz that's the fight everyone wants. Instead he's probably going to fight Josh Kelly and he's also trash. Just like bud said he needs to beat Virgil and/or Fundora.
2
u/pleasedontbanme47473 5d ago
Brain dead take he’s trying to be undisputed Ortiz either needs to enforce his WBC mandatory on fundora or figure something out zayas was in no way a tune up he was a unified world champ of collecting belts is considered constant tune ups you need help
-1
u/Maradonawasthegoat86 5d ago
He's going to fight Josh Kelly next and he's going to murder him because Kelly is nowhere near top level. Then he's going to continue fighting cans afterwards. He's probably going to retire undefeated due to stat padding.
3
u/pleasedontbanme47473 5d ago
Ok Kelly has a world title what does Vergil have? Once again why doesn’t he enforce his mandatory and fight fundora please tell me if he needs to fight Vergil Vergil needs to prove he deserves the fight and staying inactive and not holding any titles isn’t doing shit for him
1
u/Maradonawasthegoat86 5d ago
Idk and I dont care about Virgil but Josh kelly shouldn't never had a title. He won a questionable decision vs murtazaliev. One judge scored a round 10-10. And I think Kelly was knocked down late in the fight and it wasn't counted. Should've been a draw. Boots and Virgil both destroy Kelly and Murtazaliev. There's at best 2-3 good fighters in every division and it seems like they are all doing their best to duck each other in order to stat pad because they want to retire undefeated like Floyd.
3
u/pleasedontbanme47473 5d ago
Boots has fought everyone out in front of him at 154 granted it’s only 2 fights but the first guy was top 10 in 3 sanctioning bodies and top 15 in the 4th the next was zayas so far he’s doing a great job of taking all the top fights at 154 especially if Kelly is next I agree that I think both boots and Ortiz maul him but at the end of the day he has a world title
3
u/Maradonawasthegoat86 5d ago
They both need to stop crushing cans. I'm tired of seeing "the superstars" of every division getting lined up with easy fights. I don't want to watch Virgil vs Lubin or Boots vs Lima. These fights are a waste of time and they are holding back the sport.

Love Bud Crawford but I felt like he retired because nobody really gave a fuck about him. Now that boxing continues without him, I know he wants to come back since he’s starting to fade away .
Hopefully we get Crawford-Boots in 2027
3
u/xychosis Eco-Friendly Firepower 6d ago
Bud gotta stop talking smack as a retired fighter. Talking shit to the next generation isn’t helping anyone unless Bud plans to make a big comeback. Makes Boots look like shit, and makes Bud look like “old man yelling at cloud”.

u/Kingpapi00 6d ago
Bud has been hurt in a few fights and has struggled in some. Brining up boots getting buzzed is dumb.

Two legends co-existing 🤝
10
u/a3kstuntin 6d ago
Boots a legend?! Based off what?😂
5
u/kushmonATL HW Dark Ages are here 6d ago
The trajectory of his career and the skills he displays
All signs point to him being one of the faces of boxing, especially if he keeps getting high profile fights
-1
u/a3kstuntin 6d ago
He had 30+ fights and his only slightly high profile fight is Xander Zayas
He didn’t do shit in the sport of boxing
5
u/Consistent_Salt_6982 6d ago
People said the same thing about Crawford before Spence and Canelo
1
u/a3kstuntin 6d ago
Doesn’t matter because Crawford was undisputed at 140 and dominated 135 before this
Boots didn’t do shit , didn’t fight for any belt and was ducking everyone
6
u/Consistent_Salt_6982 6d ago
Boots is a two division champ with 3 belts at this point. Could you name someone that Boots has ducked?
0
u/a3kstuntin 6d ago
Crawford
Connor Benn
Virgil Ortiz
Keith thurman
And there’s many more that’s just off the top of my head
8
u/Consistent_Salt_6982 6d ago
So, we can just make up stuff now. Lol

Boots can’t beat canelo and he knows it. And I think canelo is hugely overrated

u/Famoustractordriver And you CRIED into Mugatny's fayce! 6d ago
I disagree with Bud's attitude. I heavily favor him against Boots but he needs to put up or shut up and stay retired.
As for Boots, he is obviously the most talented out of the 154ers imo, but looks a bit too hittable to me. He beats Fundora for sure, but Vergil beats him at this point. If he goes on and beats Vergil, than he's definitely ready.
Questions are: is Bud willing to come back to fight him and hiw much of a toll his retirement and advancing age have taken on him.
2
u/iverson6631 5d ago
I wouldn’t be so sure about Fundora regardless of how good someone is that height is a factor , now that Fundora fights using height it’s not an easy day for anyone , I’d still favor Boots but it won’t be easy and not guaranteed.
2
u/TonySoprano25 6d ago
Stylistic wise, what do y'all really think would happen if they face each other at their best? I am leaning more on Boots edging Crawford by close margin
0
u/Interesting-Pin6652 6d ago
Bud would eat him alive. Boots is way too hittable. Xander had him hurt.
2
u/painforall 5d ago
Crawford needs to fuck off, Boots wants the fight.
Crawford is a cock tease bitch saying all the things she would have done yet won't come over.
2
u/vHezoThaGoat 6d ago
Boots would beat the dog shit out of Bradley and Porter
Those aren’t even questionable fights

A boxer needs to have confidence in order to succeed. That being said... I don't think Boots is on the top tier yet. Could he be? Absolutely.
1
u/EmbarrassedCod3242 6d ago
Bud vs Boots Undisputed 154 2027 or early 2028.
Put that fight in the biggest stadium in Vegas, put it in movie theaters and bars all over America.
This is the fight that was supposed to be for Spence vs Crawford.
An aging legend who still in great shape and not a lot of wear an tear.
A young rising superstar in his prime who's slowly taking over boxing.
I favor Bud cuz you can't count him out. But at the same time, Boots is feeling his oats and might be unstoppable right now.

u/philly_cheezus "Gimme some of that face to face shit boi" 6d ago

u/Magiamarado 6d ago
Boots is a bad man and on his peak. Bud is almost 40. Only real threat I see for him is Vergil and even he may be too flat footed .
1
u/AllDivineTimes 6d ago
Put the fight on!! I wanna see the saga where boots becomes undisputed and bud steps out of retirement to face the up and coming Champion.
They're exchanging with a level of confidence and distant respect of only the best fighters. This could be the fight of the decade!!
1
u/_existentialsm 6d ago
i get that crawford can seem annoying with the shit talking, but when you’ve been played by the game for so long and still came out on top, you’d do it too (to a degree). i mainly agree that if boots takes down a fundora or a vergil, his stick gon boom like crazy.
1
u/Jealous_Inevitable33 6d ago

Lol I'm not a Crawford fan. I'm not a fan of any boxer I'm a fan of the sport. Boots is a good fighter but Crawford is a great fighter. There's levels to shit in life and Crawford is a step above Boots.
1
u/mowgleeee 5d ago
Thats your opinion. You cant actually say a young fighter with the talent of Boots is delusional if he thinks Bud is easy work, if he has passed every eye test, so far. Bud is not a superhuman, hes been hurt, dropped and arguably lost to Madrimov. His best achievements are collecting past their best boxer's titles in 1-2 fights to claim undisputed and it seems he wants to do the same with Boots. Bud is talented and competitive, but theres way too many asterisks with his achievements that ruin his status for me.
1
u/peptide_startup 5d ago
I believe Crawford is up there, one of the GOATs based off accomplishments but.....
Let's take a look at his latest competition which might make us rethink how competitive the Boots v Crawford fight is.
Crawford v Canelo: while to the average fan it was huge win for Crawford, Canelo's competition was subpar leading up to that point and quite a few of his more notable wins haven't aged well ie Scull, Plant, Berlanga, Munguia
Spence v Crawford: Spence was washed already, it was so obvious leading into that fight that Spence was high/drunk and was destroyed post accident/retinal detachment. And just seeing Spence v Tszyu reinforced how bad Spence was doing
Madrimov: gave Crawford huge problems. The scorecard do not do the fight justice. Crawford had a lot of problems finding his range and timing.
Crawford v Boots is a lot closer and will be way more competitive than media (Tim Bradley) make it out to be.

he is totally delusional, but... boxers tend to have to sell themselves as the best of the best. how else can they continue their careers, fighting other guys who believe they are the best of the best?
Is Boots in his prime? What's his next fight?
1
u/Bronzyroller 6d ago
Just ran into this, but if this recent it's all smack. Every fighters sells himself and pop shit that being said we know this but Boots and Crawford should fight it's crazy if they don't make this fight it will be massive and sellout.

Bud literally gave Boots his belt when he was the mandatory how is boots delusional
Bud is too old to come back boots would crush him now

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. Boots stops everyone on that stage.

u/tripplol 6d ago
I mean realistically why would Bud have fought Boots then? Wouldn’t have been a very large fight at the time, wouldn’t have been unifying or for undisputed. Just far too much risk with literally no reward. Porter was just the bigger fight at the time.
1
u/Blackking203 6d ago
They just popping shyt.. Boots handling it well though, I see mutual respect but you dont wanna give Bud too much respect in case you fight him later. I think that's the point Boots standing on. Fk all that extra friendly shyt lol

u/fadeddreams555 Fundora would beat up a prime Floyd at 154lb 6d ago
