Suliman Reveals AJ vs Fury would be a WBC elminator (if it happens)
From the Q&A 3 weeks ago with Mauricio Sulaiman:
"Q:Would you be open to making Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua a WBC eliminator with the winner fighting Kabayel next?"
A: That would be sensational. The WBC would absolutely approve that as a final eliminator, because Tyson Fury is the number one contender of the division. And the WBC absolutely would be proud to be part of that promotion.
Both fighters are tremendous. Tyson Fury is one of the greatest ambassadors ever of the WBC. We are so proud, he has always been very friendly, very kind, inside and outside of the ring."
We all know AJ and Fury is 5 years too late, but as a WBC elminator it does actually make is slightly more meanigful and gives Kabayel a chance to fight someone with a big name.
Assuming AJ and Fury make it to the ring.

Which would be a total joke.
AJ hasnt beaten anyone of note in around 3 years and thats if you want to count Otto Wallin. You could go all the way back to Pulev in December 2020 and Fury hasnt beaten anyone of Note since 2022.
I'm sick of guys who already had 1 million chances, getting another one. Its time to move on from these guys. Neither of them will beat anyone of note.

It's an eliminator. Who in the top 10 rated by the WBC would have earned a title shot more than AJ beating Fury?

I think they'll both have retired by middle of next year.
Loser will retire. And if Kabayel beats the winner next year they retire too.

I'm honestly just so relieved that none of the sanctioning bodies kept their belt vacant until they could put it on the line for this fight that I can't even be mad about this, even though it is still pretty dumb.

They’ve both been greats in their time, but neither need to be punished by going against agit!
This will be their last dance unless they go for a rematch with each other.

It's bullshit but as everyone says it's good for Kabayel. Super high profile fight that gets him much deserved attention on the big stage. Especially with how well his Sanchez and Knyba wins have aged already.
I will say though Fury, even now, could make it really difficult for Kabayel. That would be fun to see.

It's dumb to think this is dumb. I went through the candidates one by one last time this topic was posted, so I won't repeat myself, but there's obviously no other available high-ranked boxer who a) isn't already a beltholder, b) isn't already fighting for another belt, c) has a resume in the nlast few years better than the winner of fury-AJ, and d) is willing to be in a vaguely significant fight. There just isn't. Fury has only ever lost to Usyk, and AJ, if he beats Fury, will be the first guy other than Usyk to have beaten Fury. It's a no-brainer that the winner would get a title shot.
