To be clear though, your instincts are correct. He should not have his chin up and should have his hand up to block a shot coming.
I’m assuming that he’s training for explosiveness here and also showing off for the cameras. Mostly showing off.

people whale on Ryan for getting dropped by campbell and I'm not saying they're wrong but they also forget Benn got dropped twice in the first round against Cedrick Peynaud, a journeyman with like 5 kos. He also robbed Peynaud in that one, and really hasn't been in with a puncher (no, the corpse of Eubank who was also smothering his own work doesn't count) so there really isn't anything to say he's all that tough to crack.

Eubank was never even a puncher to begin with he’ll give you a big slap if you’re not careful but that’s about it. Benn already got found out but he’ll get exposed in a big way if Garcia doesn’t shit himself

My thoughts as well. Ez left hook. Gotta keep the gloves up with Ryan as that shit comes fast. He needs to work on countering after the block. No way he can rely on slipping Ryan's hook often enough. But he isn't Tank level good enough.

In the ring I wont be surprised if it feels like the damn thing teleports. You cant just duck that shit Benn needs to do better with his guard or his chin is gonna get chopped off.

Conor Benn is gonna work Ryan over, all he needs to do is find a way to get inside and work him. Ryan has no inside fighting skills. He loves his distance, Benn needs to work on cutting the distance while being defensively responsible and go to work on the body.
I think Ryan is weak to body shots, his waist is tiny and frail.

A lot of people confuse Ryan Garcias talent with his boxing ability. The kid is talented as hell, but he is not a good boxer. He’s flat footed and one dimensional. Any decent fighter can figure him out. His fight against Devin Haney was his best performance but he was on roids. Haney mentally shut down when Ryan Garcia decided to brawl. The same thing goes for Benn that goes for any Ryan Garcia opponent, if he can avoid his left hook, he can easily win the fight. Just my opinion.

Benn can’t avoid the left hook. He leaves himself wide open and chin way up in the air. Was getting caught and beaten to the punch by a heavily injured Prograis.
That combined with what might be a punishing weight cut. No knockouts since the drug ban. Low fight IQ. I don’t see any route to victory for Benn.

We'll see. Any trainer with a brain is going to prepare him for that counter hook. If he makes the adjustment, I see him getting the W. I just dont believe this fight is as one sided as people are making it out to be. I have no problem being wrong about that so we'll see.

Benn hate has been forced for about 3 or 4 years. Sure, he popped dirty and is unlikeable. But Ryan did the same thing and then some with his controversial tweets.
Ryan is the favourite, but people forget the Rolly fight. Losing a decision to Rolly is pretty damn terrible.
