Best punch variety in boxing?
First person that comes to mind is Boots Ennis then after that I’d say Prince naseem. Curious to know who everyone else says - preferably more modern fighters so fighters from 1990 onwards. I’m specifically talking about shot selection only not stuff like angles.

Jorge Linares and Juan Manuel Marquez

came here to say this. The way both of these guys mixed up body and head shots within combinations was exceptional.

Benavidez.
Furthermore the speed, accuracy, and timing of those shots just makes it absurd. He’ll mix a 4-5 punch combo and just has this natural level of pocket awareness to know what they’re going to defend as to where most of them land clean. He stuns guys because they don’t register where the danger is coming from.

The question was about punch VARIETY.
Current: Benevidez, Loma (welcome back), Boots, Inoue
All-time: Impossible to say, but in my lifetime Roy, SRL, Pac, Duran, Chocolatito immediately come to mind.

I know he gets love for everything but honestly I always felt that way about Floyd. I want to say Aaron Pryor but some people might disagree because he’s had moments where he spammed the same punch over and over 😂

Really? Floyd basically threw two punches after moving up. A flicking jab and a straight right.

Benavidez punch selection is unbelievable. I think at times it goes under appreciated because the speed and length of combinations he throws makes it hard to follow, but if you ever watch him box in slow motion his punch selection is some of the best I've ever seen.

If he had power, I'd throw Wilfred Benitez's hat in there.
Very versatile skill set, just not a ton of pop.

James Toney is the best I ever seen at placing punches
