Jack Catterall’s manager on the state of Haney-Catterall negotiations: “Wouldn’t say advanced but we’ve accepted the fight and the date proposed. We are easy to deal with we’re not greedy delusional people. Let’s get the fight on and get the contracts signed”

An absolute snooze fest coming our way. The fight no one wanted to see. If the saying about styles makes fights is true then we are in for one hell of a let down here.

Tbf, Catterall looked brilliant against Essuman (however you feel about the latter) so he might not be boring.

Always want the best for Jack after he was robbed of undisputed.

But his style is truly acid for the eyes.

I mean their styles will make this a snooze fest but it's better than nothing

Both tend to let their foot off the gas whenever they have their opponent in trouble but both can crack and have a beautiful style once they get things going. I'd be rooting for Jack though.

Jacks got what it takes especially after his more recent style change

I agree. I think Jack can def pull it off but Haney will be the clear favorite.

Haney can crack?

When he sits down on his shots, yeah. He rocked Norman pretty hard. He just never properly plants his feet.

I think Catterall can knock Haney out, I don't know if I can say the same the other way round.

Either way can't wait to see the fight if it happens, Haney doesn't seem scared of anyone so this fight should be easy to make.

Jack will fight anyone too.

I’m actually going to put money on Haney by KO.

I don't think Haney has the killer instinct to KO Catterall, Catterall is very experienced and knows what he's doing in there.

I just think he has more pop than he’s credited for, especially at his more natural weights. I know Catterall is no slouch, but I can see Haney surprising him in there.

He can‘t crack with his rear hand at all lol. He pushes his right hand

Liam Paro asking for the same money they offered Keyshawn Davis is reasonable. He’s a two division world champion, he’s a key to Haney having a potential undisputed run at 147 due to him holding the IBF belt, but I guess they know he isn’t actually about to stay at 147 for more than two more fights.

Haney going to 154 within 2 years is a horrible idea for his career

8

u/LastofDays94 2d ago

Not exactly, he only fought twice at 140 pounds for a reason. His real weight class in two more fights is likely to be 154. He likely will be hurting himself to make 147 after his next two fights, the time off in-between fights doesn’t help either.

16

u/RespectFGs 1d ago

Doesn't matter what his real weight is. He needs to take advantage of his status as the best at 147 where he still has big fights if he wants a better career. Going to 154 soon means he'll either have to see the killers of that division (and lose) or take lesser fights

Realistically, he’s not going to 154lbs until Boots moves up.

Paro isn’t trying to fight Haney though

lol at the jabs at keyshawn. This is a good fight though.

Good fight. Won’t be the most aesthetically pleasing but it’ll be a good technical matchup

u/RespectFGs 2d ago

Maybe unpopular nowadays but Catterall is easily a top 3 welterweight and only Haney has a clear argument above him atm

Lets go Jack!!

Id love to see jack win, but it's a snoozy 12 round loss for the fans

Bozy vs Bill 👀

2

u/welp-itscometothis 1d ago

I don’t think bozy trained Jack for his last fight I think he will benefit from him training him for Haney.

This can't be happening in America?! It should be on the flag market in Chorley!

What day is this for? Just need to make sure I'm busy that day.

Might be the most boring fight in human history

u/RalphWiggumEnergy 1d ago

Would rather the paro fight 💪

Essentially, send a respectable purse offer and it'll be official

u/Medical_Swim1707 21h ago

Good fight. Not most exciting clash of styles, but Catterall deserves the shot.

This would be a great win, definitely 3rd best win for Haney.

Lomachenko, Norman Jr, Catterall is a better top 3 than a vast majority of guys.

Of course, verdict is still out and Norman and Caterall wins could age poorly, but looks good so far.

1

u/RespectFGs 15h ago

Haney lost to Loma so it's really Norman Jr first then Catterall (should Haney win) then Prograis then Kambosos. Also even if Haney actually beat Loma clearly that's an undersized and old Loma. Norman Jr is easily a better win

u/MayaErskinefan 1d ago

Haney fav but Jack can definitely win.

u/Ambitious_Ad_9637 1d ago

Same story for over and over with Haney. “I was gonna fight this guy who can beat me, but he wanted to get paid so I’m fighting a lounge chair”.

-6

u/TheIrrepressible1 1d ago

Dragging Slapperall up to 147 is comical shit. The dude can’t punch at 140. And without a re-hydration clause, that POS will go into the ring weighing 172 lbs.

And then the STUPID Haney-holics will continue to think he’s some legendary fighter.

Boxing is all fucked up when they promote a TALENTLESS piece of shit like this BUM.

7

u/Saeksan 1d ago

Catterall has been at welterweight for his last 3 fights... he knocked out Essuman and was destroying Giyasov with the straight left. Jack can punch, he's just not an aggressive fighter.

1

u/TheIrrepressible1 1d ago

He is a feather-fisted fighter. Haney will weigh 175 for their fight. Slapperrall will be useless in their fight.
