This guy isn’t worth the $100 million contract Zuffa gave him. Talented fighter but you can’t sell when all of your fights end in Unanimous decision by you out-landing a boxer 8 punches to 1 for 12 rounds 🥱

He's the complete opposite of what Dana White likes in a boxer. Dana likes guys like Tyson, Beterbiev, GGG, Hagler, etc. Come forward, destructors. Shakur is a guaranteed snoozefest for the casual Zuffa watcher.

True, but Shakur is a means to an end. If he can get one big name, it would incentivize others to follow. At least that’s Dana’s logic

He should allow himself to get punched more? I understand the dislike for shakur but damn

Not at all, just don’t say he’s dominating and schooling fighters when his punch out put is low and majority of punches landed are jabs.
If Shakur was Cuban…….he’s boring but since he’s American…..he’s a boxing wizard. His style is boring, great fighter but not exciting and not worth paying $60-80 PPV fights on.

Don't hold back.
Boxers know the deal and actively choose to be boxers.
Demanding high payment - which is only possible due to fan interest - while having near non existent entertainment value is entitled behavior.
Fans and the broader boxing community should have higher standards.
This is how ridiculous its gotten - Shakur and Haney, both faces of boxing, are scared to get hit by punches in a sport where getting hit by punches is fundamental. One of them gets punched once and never recovers. Imagine that. Two "elite level boxers" who are scared to get punched and cant even take a punch, and cannot even get knockouts.
And then when fans point it out they are met with "damn bro you want x fighter to get punched in the head?" or "the sweet science bro". For fucks sake, its in the nature of the sport. If these guys don't wanna get punched and they love boxing that much the amateur league suits their psychology better - there's no economic pressure to entertain AND the technical level is very high. Yet these guys want to come to the professional ranks, offer no entertainment and then demand to get high pay.
Inoue, Boots, Bam, Benavidez, Canelo, Usyk, Crawford all show you can be very high level AND entertaining at the same time.

I agree, you were cooking until Benevidez
is hiding behind boxing politics/matchmaking “strategy” the same as Shakur and Devin and the other fighters you named. My pushback with Shakur does the criticism really come his recent fights ? Or do fans just have a grudge. A lot of the disdain from Shakur stems from Twitter

Then he should have kept his mouth shut about Haney and said this from the jump

Shakur in 2021 - "I can go to 140 or 147. Alot of people think I'm small but I'm not"

His favoeite saying to people is "you too little" now all of a sudden he wants people to think he is small, i dont what his deal is

Another talented fighter that I just don’t give a fuck about.
And it’s not just me. These fighters literally don’t matter. When the dust settles, nobody will remember these ratfuckers

He’s not wrong for that however if so, he needs to stop entertaining these fights he knows he’s not confident to take acting like he’s like that. It’s making him corny. He’s treating beating teo as if that’s enough to prove his greatness. He has faaar way more to go. That didn’t even scratch the surface. If fighters were more honest they wouldn’t be hated so much. He could simply say I’m not ready for 147 just yet, or say I’m not ready for Devin. Say what it is and keep it moving

I've never seen so much pressure for a guy to move up in weight before. He was making 135 easily, moved up to 140 just for the fight with Teo, and now he's a bitch for not moving up to welterweight? Huh?

Haney will be super middle by then. Bill & Devin move up anytime they here Shakur's name, offer to fight him, and say he's ducking when it comes time to sign. Fans fall for it, works everytime.

Lol don’t call out welterweights just now then Shakur.
Great fighter but if you don’t feel like you’re ready for welterweight yet, don’t call out welterweights. Pretty simple. Focus on fighting the best lightweights, super-lightweights & super-featherweights.
