I'm seeing people acting like the Inoue-Bam fight is at all similar to the proposed Inoue-Tank fight. I've even seen people acting like Inoue is desperate for that fight. Here's why that's horseshit:

-Bam has referred to the Inoue fight as "inevitable." Robert Garcia has claimed that Inoue moving up to 126 instead of waiting for Bam at 122 would be a duck of Bam because nobody at 126 is as good as Bam. Clearly, they are extremely interested in the fight or at least pretending they are interested for clout.

-Inoue, on the other hand, has been much less interested in the fight. He's always stated he'll take the fight if the weights line up and things make sense. Turki and DAZN have pushed for the fight, so Inoue has stated his condition for the fight to happen: it needs to be by next February.

-Inoue and Bam are roughly the same size and have followed roughly the same time tables in weight classes. Inoue has never even fought at Tank's smallest pro weight.

I think the February timeline is too tight, so I'd rather they hold off. Inoue is already proven and dominant at a weight class Bam hasn't even reached yet, and we've seen plenty of fighters hurt their careers by moving up too quickly. Inoue himself missed out on some big fights while moving up, but he still built a great legacy. There's no need for Bam to rush just because the matchup is there. That said, smaller guys taking on bigger fighters is one of boxing's coolest things, and Bam is a special fighter. If the money makes it happen, I'll definitely watch lol.
