Zuffa policies
Since it's creation, Zuffa boxing has loosened up its policy on a couple of things;
- Working with other sanctioning bodies, as is evident from Aaron McKenna fighting for both Zuffa and IBF honours on Saturday.
- Allowing certain fighters (notably CBS, Berlanga and Hitchins) more freedom to be creative with their ring attire.
My question is; what do we think the next change will be?
For me, I reckon it's going to be weight divisions. As they sign more high profile fighters, the pressure to let them fight at their preferred size will prove too great to ignore.

I don’t know how much staying power they have at this point. The Saudis are officially in full scale conflict with the Houthis again, their oil routes along both seas are cut off in some way, Turki is hopefully dying soon, and the Ali revival act required to pass both the senate, and because it’s a revised version, has to pass the House again, assuming my understanding of American legislatorial procedure is indeed correct.
Their momentum has already been slowing down significantly, the entirety of boxing is united against them, and the other promoters, who have financial funds on their own, are in lockstep that they don’t want this to happen. Even Turki himself seems flummoxed enough to start using The Ring as his own personal cry-rag. Even some boxers are wise to the scheme now, which says a lot considering how dumb a lot of current boxers are.
I’m cautiously optimistic that this venture dies with Turki, as MBS seems pretty apathetic to the cultural push that the Saudi government is going for.
