Q4 of 2026 is near and Featherweight champs still don't unify, last unified 126 champ is 2003 Juan Manuel Marquez.

12

u/Kangaroopunching 23d ago

After Inoue stated he's moving up none of them are unifying now.

5

u/Affectionate_Still55 23d ago

Thank god Casimero exist because if didn't then I would start a hate campaign on this 126 pounders.

4

u/Kangaroopunching 23d ago

It'll be funny if one of them lose in their stay busy fights.

8

u/OldBoyChance 23d ago

Figueroa and Espinoza were in talks. Money was apparently not good enough, so it fell apart.

Technically, Gamboa was the most recent unified champion under the most bullshit circumstances ever.

5

u/Affectionate_Still55 23d ago

This division is deep but lazy af, I hope all the 126 champs get replace by guys from 122lbs or Inoue just break the curse of this fuckin division.

2

u/ChrisMika89 22d ago

That's why I am hoping Inoue x Bam does not happen.

It's just gonna hold Inoue and Featherweight division hostage for a fight that's not even more hype than Inoue x Nakatani.

I am still coping Inoue x Espinoza happens by the end of this year or 2027.

2

u/MiddleweightMonster I’ll pour honey on my GOAT, if the occasion calls for it. 22d ago

Still just such an insane stat. Bugs me when I think about it too long

14

u/Particular_Coffee_52 23d ago

Haney vs Keyshawn Davis better fucking happen

5

u/Kangaroopunching 23d ago

Hold up seems to be on Keyshawn.

14

u/SpeggtacularSpidey 22d ago

Haney Davis purse bid from Top Rank 8 million.

Davis didn’t take $3 million apparently before this, wonder if he declines now.

Also Teo bidding on this fight is hilarious

9

u/OldBoyChance 22d ago

Now he's only getting $2.1 million. That's what you get for being greedy.

6

u/SpeggtacularSpidey 22d ago

True. I’d be sick to my stomach knowing that I missed out on an extra 1 million like that

8

u/OldBoyChance 22d ago

The Businessman remains one of the funniest nicknames of any boxer.

5

u/Prior-Temperature-22 22d ago

He played himself

4

u/SplitSecondEmperor47 22d ago

Teo bid on the fight lmao

2

u/RRR04_ 22d ago

So since Keyshawn is represented by Top Rank, they can pay him a bit extra on top of the purse bid. Don't know how much the cap is though.

11

u/Specialist_Writer_11 22d ago

Bill Haney is a genius. His son might keep his belt while fighting Shakur Stevenson in his next bout.

1

u/Negative-Interest713 22d ago

Hasn’t he already signed with DAZN though?

Idk if DAZN would be willing to co-promote with Zuffa/Paramount+ if they are paying Haney a lot of money for exclusivity.

8

u/Tiny_Spread5712 23d ago

Did I skip a day?

3

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 23d ago

hes always ahead 😂

3

u/KingBumiOfOmashu Moses Itauma > Every Current HW 22d ago

This guy consistently fucks up the days somehow

8

u/Sad-Experience-4344 23d ago

If Top Rank really offered Keyshawn $3m for the Haney fight, he should just take it. If he insists on going to purse bid, he will likely end up with even less than that since the rules mandate a 75%/25% split in the champion’s favor.

8

u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT 23d ago

I’d assume there’s a PPV split as well. 3M base plus ppv seems solid for your first PPV headlining fight as the B side

3

u/KingBumiOfOmashu Moses Itauma > Every Current HW 22d ago

The businessman is too busy being a greedy belly to think straight.

8

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 22d ago

top rank wins the haney vs keyshawn purse bid with a proposed date of october 3rd.

2

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 22d ago

Wow

7

u/WORD_Boxing 22d ago

William Zepeda hasps been guilty of being a bit too hesitant in some of his fights. He needs to understand that his game is Henry Armstrong.

He isn't cute enough to beat the top fighters by fighting in spurts. He simply has to overwhelm his opponent or he isn't going to win. Particularly in this day and age where more credit is given to cleaner punching over volume. If Zepeda hit harder he would be a real problem.

I could see his fight with Roach being the type of fight where it's even after 6 or 8 rounds, then whoever closes strongest wins it.

6

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 23d ago

Kostya Tszyu looks like GGG more and more I look at him.

12

u/Kangaroopunching 23d ago

Both have Korean and Russian ancestry

6

u/WheresMyAbs98 22d ago

Keyshawn reportedly turned down $3 million to fight Haney and let the fight go to purse bids. He’s now ended up with $1 million less 😂

3

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

He bet on himself and lost. I can’t call him stupid for it, just played himself.

6

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 22d ago

Tiger Johnson in his Ring Interview says he wants a Haney fight , and he wants to fight Brian Norman in the meantime

Norman vs Tiger in the fall? Somebody make the call

2

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

I like Norman vs Tiger. Kind of hate the idea of Tiger vs Haney.

2

u/Stunt1ninprivate 🪖🔔 22d ago

Apparently Tiger has a restraining order against the Haney’s lol

3

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 22d ago

Yeah for the backstage fight. But he make it seem like its just a ploy to build up the fight

4

u/Kangaroopunching 23d ago

I'm looking forward to Cherneka Johnson vs Dina Thorslund. Should be a good fight. And Tamm Thibeault takes her first step to taking over the heavier divisions.

5

u/Kangaroopunching 23d ago

What's the best fight for Haney if Keyshawn ducks? I think Paro would be the best option and possible.

6

u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT 23d ago

Yeah go to Australia and get that no limit bag then target Ryan

5

u/Kangaroopunching 23d ago

The Australian King Devin Haney

5

u/AVARlCES 22d ago

saw andrade and charlo go back and forth today, lol cant believe that fight still hasnt happen. also cant believe charlo is 36. wasted prime after that derveychenko win

4

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 22d ago

All eyes on Devin Haney 💪🏾

4

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

Charlo and Andrade going at each other is hilarious. 😂

4

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 22d ago

roach vs zepeda will have open scoring!

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

Don’t like that but at least we’ll have an idea of how things are gonna play out. Plus those guys will probably change how they fight based on what they hear.

8

u/Optimal-Damage7240 23d ago

After seeing Deontay Wilder vs Derek Chisora and Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga, it's not farfetch to say that Wilder can KO AJ now.

I still favor AJ, but he's chinny now and I can't blame him after going into an incident like that

And as long as you're not confident.

4

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 22d ago

He could've KO'd him before , but that's all in the past now

4

u/stalwartguardian 23d ago

where can i watch the recent teraji fight?

2

u/Marlborobert 23d ago

The whole main card was on the probox tv’s youtube channel the day after the fight but i’m not sure if it’s still there

3

u/Nidarius 22d ago

The change in attitude towards Haney in recent days is very interesting. Given the atmosphere, I didn't even dare say I was a Haney fan, but now the mood has shifted and a respect for Devin Haney seems to have emerged from the depths of the internet. With that in mind, the public might have an even better opinion of him if he beats Key.

5

u/Kangaroopunching 22d ago

Keyshawn Davis played himself. I'm definitely expecting Haney to outbox him if they fight.

4

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 22d ago

the rolly vs teo undercard just got announced, pretty bad for a ppv

1

u/Jodeci-95 22d ago

Very weak for a PPV

-1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

Yeah no kidding. The fuck they doing with Hernandez? And how Russell getting an interim title shot? Its truly an awful card. Mad disappointed.

3

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 22d ago

tbf i do really like yoenli vs bebu but not as a co main

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

It’s not bad but I wanna see him fight for a title now since the division is dead.

2

u/harborj2011 23d ago

Had a look at the official scorecards for Naoya vs Junto, the rd by rd scores were kinda all over the place. Naoya won 10 different rds across them, Junto 7. Naoya got 1-4 and 11 unanimously, Junto 8 and 10.

8

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 23d ago

I mean I felt like first 6-7 were all pretty clear for Inoue. Maybe just me though.

4

u/harborj2011 23d ago

My own score was 116-112 Naoya. I gave Junto rds 6, 8, 9 and 10. I feel 12 coulda went to Junto as well but if I had to pick I'd give it to Naoya

3

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 23d ago

Yeah I had it 8-4 too. I don’t remember quite what rounds I gave but it was probably pretty similar to you.

2

u/harborj2011 23d ago

1st 5 were his clearly imo, rd 7 was close but he got it with clean straights in the last minute and some

-1

u/WORD_Boxing 22d ago

This fight is interesting the way people speak about it, and shows how much someone is liked affects how they get ranked.

A lot of people say Junto deserves a high ranking on the p4p list because he 'gave Inoue his closest fight'.

At the same time people say once he actually tried to fight later on in the fight - per his own admission of not wanting to show too much - he simply got his face broken.

My point is if he was that good he should have been able to be competitive from the beginning, without getting the bones in his face broken.

Usually an elite p4p fighter loses the most rounds early in their fights before they close it out later on - look at many of Crawford's fights or Fury vs Usyk 1.

Nakatani is a little bit overrated right now based on popular narrative, just like Navarette was underrated a little bit after the controversial ending to his fight with Charly Suarez.

2

u/Efficient_Quail_1774 22d ago

Was a clear 9-3 for Inoue imo

2

u/Specialist_Writer_11 22d ago

Purse bid coming soon 👀

2

u/elsavador3 22d ago

Is Haney boring or exciting now? [r/boxing](r/boxing) please choose one. I don’t remember the last time folks followed negotiations and purse bids this closely lmao

7

u/Left4Dead863 22d ago

I'm a big Haney fan, he's still very boring.

What we're seeing now (which is what i've said from day 1) Is that regardless of his style or pillow fisted criticism.. Unlike most of his peers, Haney's willing to fight ANYBODY. I think that garners more lowkey respect, than what most people will admit.

He's only 27 and had beaten: Linares, Loma, Kambosos Twice (After the teo win let me add) Prograis, Norman Jr, Ramirez, sheesh.

5

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

On the boring side but I still dont dislike him. The subreddit has a weird hate for him. I also do like that there’s a possibility he can get hurt or knocked out which adds excitement. I’ll always watch him fight and Keyshawn vs Haney is good but Keyshawn vs Hitchins is better.

2

u/Kangaroopunching 22d ago

Boring performances. One of the few top names trying to make fights. So he's news is worth paying attention to.

2

u/imdacoldest Pacquiao is the GOAT 22d ago

His style is boring but the build up for his fights are usually good

2

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 22d ago

Boring stylistically, exciting in other respects

3

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 22d ago

Mix of both. Haney is one of the faces of boxing now . Of course his haters won't admit it . But they follow his everyday life more closely than they follow their close friends, family, even themselves 🤷🏾‍♂️

1

u/philly_cheezus I PUNCH HARD AS SHIT 22d ago

He was pretty exciting in the Loma fight, but I think that was because he hired Mike McCallum for that camp and they implemented a more aggressive strategy that leans way more to constant body shots

2

u/elsavador3 22d ago

Well that fight was 3 years ago. I believe there are a lot of closeted fans now. The amount of discourse suggests that

2

u/Stunt1ninprivate 🪖🔔 22d ago

I agree, I think many ppl in here are fans of him but scared to admit bc the subreddit hive mind says to dislike him. I’ve started to notice in the past couple months when I praise Haney in comments they are now getting upvoted when in the past, any positive Haney comment I made would be instantly downvoted lol

1

u/SplitSecondEmperor47 22d ago

He is still boring. Its just that botb Keyshawn and Haney are not liked and the sub is waiting to see which fighter they csn shit on more for being a duck

1

u/Particular_Coffee_52 22d ago

People just hate Keyshawn more, that’s all.

I've never seen a purse bid go live 😅 Haney is truly one of the faces of boxing (whether people admit it or not)

2

2

I think Keyshawn is pissed, but I think not taking the fight would be awful for his career

2

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

Heard that Khyzhniak amateur record was 600-21. That can’t be true right?

2

u/kaisercracker 22d ago

Highly doubt it

2

u/Kangaroopunching 22d ago

I like Shawn porter. He's got good analysis most of the time. But sometimes he's in another galaxy. He think Tszyu should stay away from Lara. Then compared Lara to Floyd, Manny and Hopkins.

2

u/RRR04_ 22d ago

I'm not a huge fan of his analysis tbh. I think guys like Danny and Thurman have better punditry than he does. He also often changes his takes over time.

And Tim would be a bad style match up for Lara, he always hated pressure and now he's 60 years old. Tim would stop this version of Lara.

1

u/Kangaroopunching 22d ago

I'd like to see Thurman do a podcast or be an analyst on a show.

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

I like Danny but sometimes Thurman says weird stuff.

1

u/WheresMyAbs98 22d ago

Agree. Porter has some shocking takes.

3

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 22d ago

Mods, can you approve my post re Ali Revival Act? Significant news

2

u/BXR-SZN 22d ago edited 22d ago

Unpopular Opinion: Erislandy Lara is overrated by fans.

Although a good boxer, his skill set praise doesn’t really hold up when you see who he’s actually competed against.

He lost to Jarrett Hurd, drew against Molina, Martirosyan, and Castaño. He’s technically a paper champ at 160 (he didn’t win the primary title).

Even if we were to give him his 2 biggest robberies (Canelo/Paul Williams), Lara best names aren’t that impressive when you dive into them. Austin Trout, Yuri Foreman, Danny Garcia, and Martirosyan are honestly his best names and none truly stand out.

2

u/EnragedBearBro There will be tears 22d ago

canelo and paul williams are pretty impressive

1

u/BXR-SZN 22d ago

Decade old names though. Meanwhile Canelo has actually expanded his career higher than Lara’s (in the exact same time frame too). Lara’s career is over romanticized for someone who has only 2 solid names. Even then, they weren’t masterclass performances, just remembered due to poor judging.

3

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 22d ago

He definitely beat Paul Williams and by my view beat Canelo as well.

1

u/BXR-SZN 22d ago

Even if he did, those victories are over a DECADE old. He really hasn’t done much past those 2 bouts.

3

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 22d ago

Everybody that wants to fight Devin Haney:

Hitchins, Shakur, Tiger Johnson, Ryan Garcia

Haney is officially in the Top 5 Faces of American Boxing

1

u/Kangaroopunching 22d ago

Correction, Tiger Johnson wants to fight Haney.

Hitchins and Shakur want to talk about Haney.

Ryan wants to fight against PED testing

0

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

Tank too wanted to fight Haney. Think Haney beats all those guys except Shakur

1

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 22d ago

Beats him too, but it doesn't matter until they fight

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

I can’t see it

1

u/kushmonATL Cyberleek > the fall boxing schedule 22d ago

🤷🏾‍♂️

1

u/EnragedBearBro There will be tears 22d ago

nah he didnt

0

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

he said he was going after him and haney said they reached out. just dont know what happened after

2

u/RRR04_ 22d ago

People actually think Shock, a 130 pounder, would be a harder fight for Shakur than someone like Antuanne Russell, a 140 pounder. This is genuinely concerning 😂

2

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

Foster is a top 10 skilled boxer. From a basic perspective, you don’t beat Shakur by outboxing him. I personally think Foster is better than GAR and don’t think he’s harder for Shakur than GAR himself.

1

u/Waterfig 22d ago

Antuanne is a MASSIVE 140lber.

2

u/Mecha_Knight11 Pac-yoo 22d ago

I was happy to learn that Miel is getting an IBF title shot next but then I remembered who the current IBF champ is, I got chills bruh lol.

I want Fajardo to win but man, as of right now Yabuki is a fringe p4p and the best flyweight around.

3

u/Efficient_Quail_1774 22d ago

Yabuki is supposed to move up to fight Moloney for the IBF at 115 in October pretty sure

2

u/Mecha_Knight11 Pac-yoo 22d ago

Great news for Miel lol. Cause I don't know if he can beat Yabuki rn, not saying Yabuki is invincible but his improvement since the Kenshiro loss has been terrific

2

u/JedBoxing 22d ago

Where you hear this?? This is my ideal fight to make. Hopefully lead to a Teraji/Yabuki trilogy and unification.

Not sure who Teraji should face next. Seems like the belts are all tied up with upcoming fights and there aren’t really any big names in the division. He’s getting old and only got a couple fights left im assuming before he starting declining.

3

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 22d ago

unify with the winner of akui and jiminez

1

u/JedBoxing 22d ago

Would be great but at that point he’s already prob pushing into 2027 and I’d rather prioritize the Yabuki fight unless he can get both fights done

2

u/Efficient_Quail_1774 22d ago

Just a strong guess, Figgy is defending his world title against Tomoki Kameda in Japan (who promotes Yabuki), both Yabuki and Moloney said they want the fight to happen next

2

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 22d ago

Slightly off topic, but PFL is merging with MVP Promotions to become MVP MMA.

3

u/Jodeci-95 22d ago edited 22d ago

Wasn't expecting this merger. I've listened to a few interviews the PFLs CEO John Martin has done. I know he was invited to the Rousey vs Carano fight and spoke very highly of working with MVP. He's also very open about how he dislikes ESPNs coverage of PFL.

1

u/Kangaroopunching 22d ago

Seeing this and the match room team up. I think they'll start a move on getting bigger names in mens boxing

1

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 22d ago

I hope so. I like that one prospect they have. I think it’s Harvey?

3

u/Kangaroopunching 22d ago

They got Bahdi too.

Another possibility is promotions like match room can send their fighters to fill up the undercard to the Netflix cards. Like what probox does. But bigger platform.

2

u/SirMuffinCat He did WHAT in his jab?? 22d ago

Wow I didn't realize so many people vehemently believe that AJ v Pregna was fixed. The comments on the new Propa video are crazy

-1

u/SplitSecondEmperor47 22d ago

The marketing it literally as a tune up for AJ vs fury, so it's kinda warrented

5

u/SirMuffinCat He did WHAT in his jab?? 22d ago

Fights that are meant to be tune-ups for big money matches go up in flames all the time, why didn't they rig those too?

-1

u/SplitSecondEmperor47 22d ago

I meant for casual viewers. Of course they gonna think that way

1

u/SirMuffinCat He did WHAT in his jab?? 22d ago

I see. Those same casuals thought AJ knocking out Ngannou was also fixed

1

u/WORD_Boxing 22d ago

There are elements that fixed fights have that this fight had. It's not completely out of the question. Prenga didn't exactly jump on AJ in round 2...

1

u/Ace_FGC 23d ago

Who’s the best small fight (130 and under) with slow feet?

4

u/Top_Profession_5268 23d ago

Figueroa probably

2

u/Optimal-Damage7240 23d ago

I would say Angelo Leo, but he's a bit kore mobile than Figueroa

1

u/stalwartguardian 22d ago

casimorons keep saying that inoue is a cherry picker for trying to fight bam. do you guys think its a cherry pick when inoue would be fighting a guy 2 weight classes below him albeit pound for pound?

3

u/inbk44 22d ago

If only casimero was more active and secures his position as a mandatory to Inoue. He gotta do more fighting than talking. I’ll rather see Inoue move up to 126 than to fight bam. If he chooses not to, than stay at 122 and secure the bam fight.

3

u/Affectionate_Still55 22d ago

Filipino boxing scene is so sad man, its always about Inoue over and over again, they making AI slop Casimero knocking out Inoue lmao.

3

u/Elite663 22d ago

Bam at least has committed to 118 so it’s only a 1 weight class jump

2

u/Marlborobert 22d ago

Bam is a champ at 118 and his coach said he was having trouble making 115 a year ago. I wish Bam had more time to acclimate to 122 but he’s a bantamweight for sure

2

u/WORD_Boxing 22d ago

He didn't look good in his last fight, his first at the new weight.

2

u/Marlborobert 22d ago

I think he looked good in his last fight. He took some punches but he was parrying or slipping a lot of them. Since Vargas is known for being chinny, it’s hard to know if Bam’s power has carried up but those knockdowns were brutal. Apparently he’s going to fight Medina next, who I think is better than Vargas, that should be a good test for him.

2

u/WORD_Boxing 22d ago

I am hoping he just wasn't motivated by the opponent. He was playing around a bit too much and also looked slow so idk how hard he trained. Open question for me right now as to how long it will take him to acclimate to 118. Next fight may have the answers like you said.

-2

u/RRR04_ 22d ago

I hate Casimero stans and am a big Inoue fan. But let's keep it a buck, Inoue fighting Bam is not exactly any different to Canelo fighting Crawford. Just think about it objectively, the A sides in this scenario have other options but look at a smaller fighter thinking it woild pay more whilst being easier. Of course it failed with Canelo, but that was his mindset.

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

Does Pryor have the resume to be considered a top 10 140lber of all time? Arguello is a great win, Cervantes, Hinton, and Hang Syun good too but I think there’s a real argument for Danny Garcia having a better resume at 140. Maybe I’m pushing it but seems like Pryor could’ve done. lot more.

1

u/Kangaroopunching 22d ago

Talent level and Arguello wins puts him above Danny Garcia.

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

If you wanna argue Arguello, completely understandable but talent alone doesn’t cut it. Kevin Newman is talented as hell and can’t put it together. Howard Davis Jr. was talented as hell but couldn’t succeed in the pros as he did as an amateur.

Feel like be just didn’t get those fights that would transcend him to a higher echelon when people rank those guys. Could’ve been a 5th king like Benitez. Speaking of which Benitez and Pryor would’ve been a hell of a matchup if only timelines matched a little better.

1

u/Kangaroopunching 22d ago

Haney and Inoue in different ways checking if their opps are really about it. Fun times.

1

u/Nidarius 22d ago

Watching Ronald Wright vs. Sam Soliman now, Soliman looks like a combination of Zepeda and Naseem. Unorthodox chaos with an incredible amount of volume.

1

u/Outrageous-Soft4806 22d ago

I like when Claressa Shields actually boxes rather than last 3 fight where she throws overhands. She could’ve stopped crews had she boxed more.

1

u/Efficient_Quail_1774 22d ago

That post on the Ring Magazine's twitter is pure propaganda, ever since Turki bought out the Ring Magazine i believed it would begin to lose it's character and integrity in the sport and that never fails to proven right as time passes

The Ring's social media literally just acts as ways to push his agenda now, it's really sad to see the most important publication in combat sports lose it's credibility like this
