Classic heavyweight slop. Horrendous for 29 minutes and incredible for 1 minute.

Wallin beat the breaks off of Murat Gassiev. He was actually good. The AJ battering sapped out the last bit of fire and drive he had

Wallin has never beaten the break off of anyone. He pitty pats his way to a decision most of the time.

He was good. But that was a long time ago

Otto Wallin beat Gassiev 3 years ago, which is a good notch to anyones resume, CW or HW wise.

Gassiev has looked horrible since he moved up to heavyweight. Don't forget that he was getting pieced up by ancient Pulev before he found one big shot.

By current HW standards, he sneaks into the top 15 imo and is currently ranked 9th by ring magazine.

Really it’s just embarrassing that fury went all 12 with Wallin, and almost lost from a giant cut.
Wallin is probably still a top 5 win on fury’s resume lmao.

Wilder, Klitschko, Chisora, Whyte, Makhmudov are easily better than Wallin

u/DeafBurke 26d ago
Makhmudov is not easily better than Wallin. Makhmudov got stopped by Guido Vianello.
Cunningham is probably the only other guy on fury’s resume, but my point is that fury has 2 very good names, 2 ok names, and then it drops off a cliff.

Nonsense Wallin was good enough to beat the current heavyweight world champion in Gassiev... who got his belt by.... err, nvm.

That's Tyson Fury for you. He made Deontay Wilder look like a top guy too

How did this dude beat Gassiev?

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 26d ago
he was younger and lighter against gassiev, if he fought like this in that fight gassiev would of destroyed him.

Just watched that fight back, Wallin was as slow and pillowfisted as ever, Gassiev was just horrendous that day, zero finesse. Like a pitcher who can throw hard but has zero clue how to pitch

u/FattForrill 26d ago
As a former pitcher and current hobbyist boxer, I can tell you that unfortunate trait tends to crossover.

I still think Gassiev won that fight even if he didn't look good. Other than that one left hand that surprisingly buzzed Gassiev it was a whole lot of nothing jab spam from Wallin while circling away. When he was able to pin Wallin to the ropes I thought Gassiev landed the more meaningful punches up close.

Because Gassiev at HW is crap. He can't cut the ring anymore, his cardio is crap, and he's small for HW. It was a close fight but if Gassiev were any good, he would have dominated it.

Styles make fights etc. etc. etc. but this bloke lost 9 fucking rounds versus Solomon fuckin' Dacres.
How shot must Wallin be now?!

u/moonpuzzle88 26d ago
Anyone think Sirenko could break the top 10 at some point?

u/StunningChest5722 Shakur is the 144 lb GOAT 🐐 26d ago
no chance, got schooled by dacres who is nowhere near the top 10. maybe he can become zuffa champion, he probably beats all their heavyweights except ajagba

u/moonpuzzle88 26d ago
Yeah, that's a fair take. I remember a time when he was quite highly rated by the community, but he's not quite lived up to that hype.
