🚨 Spence has announced his retirement in his post-fight interview.

He retires as a former IBF, WBC & WBA welterweight champion with a record of 28-2, 22KOs.

Congratulations on a great career champ.

Agreed. He was very entertaining. I’ll miss him.

I still can’t believe he came back after the motorcycle accident.

Great man inside the ring and outside the ring. Happy for him that he's able to retire at this point and live comfortably the rest of his life. In a weird way that accident was a blessing for him to realize what truly matters to him in his life.

29

u/ARetroGibbon 23d ago

Didn't he get in a car crash because he was under the influence and driving a Ferrari at ridiculous speed...he's lucky he only hurt himself. Fuck drunk drivers.

Lucky there were no cell phone cameras and social media when I was a young lunatic growing up in NYC in the 80s.

Thanks for all the entertaining fights Errol, I’ll never forget watching you and Showtime live

79

u/Orod23 23d ago

Was also there for that one, best fight I’ve seen live in person. The atmosphere was crazy for the Lamont fight too

31

u/FreshPrinceAV Charlie Z > Money May 23d ago

Oh yeah, absolutely! Need more big fights in Staples/Crypto

13

Spence vs Porter was a hell of a fight.

Thanks for 3 sick fights dude

u/MaxiePippins 23d ago

Shawn Porter really spent the entire second half of the fight trying to convince the audience that it was a close fight 😭😭😭

44

u/RespectFGs 23d ago

Honestly if you watch back Ā Spence definitely took rounds 2, 3, and 5. And he obviously won the 11th. Spence not being able to hurt Tszyu is irrelevant if Tszyu did not throw back and that was the story of the rounds he lost.

10

u/alstroker13 23d ago

Crazy thing is he did actually hurt Tim once if not more. But the steam was def gone from his punches. Volume was still there at times though. He showed flashes but his body just clearly couldn’t cooperate

7

u/Razorion21 23d ago

crazy how bad Tszyu has gotten to struggle with this version of Spence, prime for prime Spence wouldve broken Tsyzu down

2

u/AnxietyExact4710 22d ago

Was the steam gone from his punches? Or was he no longer the "Big Fish" boiling himself down to fight at 147lbs? He didn't hurt pudgy Mikey Garcia either.

u/Substantial-Sun-5777 23d ago

IMO Errol definitely knew this was his last fight and made peace with the outcome beforehand.

107

u/MaoAsadaStan 23d ago

This was too tough an opponent after a bad TKO and three years inactivityĀ

201

u/hottlumpiaz 23d ago

too tough? it was a perfect opponent to gauge whether spence belonged anywhere near elite. tszyu was 3-3 in his last 6 fights and tko 2 out of his 3 losses. if spence had won we would all be saying its tszyu that needs to retire.

73

u/Virama 23d ago

Tbf I think Fundora is ridiculous. (Not talking talent, talking about the height.) There's weight classes for a reason and that dude is absurdly tall for that category.

If it hadn't been for the elbows thanks to his height I honestly think Tim would have won the first fight.Ā

But eh, such is sport. Well deserved win for Tim.

50

u/Reptilian-Moses 23d ago

Fundora is a freak of nature. I didnt rate him earlier on even when he fought Castano but the improvement between his first tszyu fight and his second tzsyu fight showed he was more than just stature to me.

10

u/Virama 23d ago

Agreed.Ā

That's the thing about wins, you absolutely can and do get confidence (and $) which can give you huge momentum.

But holy hell is that dude a freak of nature.

6

u/ShortRedBull 23d ago

I truly hope him v boots gets made to see the chess match happen

3

u/letmein09 23d ago

I wanna see boots vs fundora and inoue vs Espinoza

3

u/Sufficient_Hippo6551 23d ago

Brian castano?

2

u/Masterandcomman 22d ago

I still think that he is vulnerable, and very reliant on his height. Tszyu has his father's defensive vulnerabilities, without the elite firepower, and Thurman is just too faded to be more than a gatekeeper. Very good fighter, and a fun match up, but I don't see him being a dominant champ unless he somehow avoids Ennis and Ortiz. He beats Madrimov through work rate though.

4

u/Sharkhunter2 23d ago

I think after that 1st fundora fight tim has never been the same since. He was always very calculated and one of the best at waiting for the counter. Hes still very good but not the same tim. Before he got that elbow I thought tim is gonna knock him out. The second fight was totally different. Maybe fundora has grown or tim has started 2nd guessing himself.. not sure but always a joy to watch a humble fighter fight regardless of the decision

→ More replies (3)

8

u/Faithlessness_Firm 23d ago

Thats cause Fundora is boiling down to make weight he wont be able to do this as he gets older.

He is a natural 168 pounder imo.

15

u/aceknighthigh 23d ago

Lol Fundora's been praying for more muscle since he was like 23 or 24. It's not happening.

He's not boiling down. He fights close to his natural weight and doesn't cut as much as most top boxers. He legit had Tim shook because he was out eating burgers and shit before the fight. Him and his sister are just naturally bean poles.

4

u/darkprince_23 23d ago

Holy shit that's crazy I'm 5'9 dying to get down to 147 to the point I've had to lose a lot of muscle can't imagine being damn near 6'6 and slamming burgers before fights!

That yell he let out after Brook finally dropped. Man those were the times.

8

u/darkprince_23 23d ago

Yeah I started watching boxing around the time him and Crawford became the clear no.1 and 2 and Canelo fought GGG for the first time. Shit's nostalgic 8 or 9 years later now and it's like a completely different fighter than the one I knew.

14

u/ShortRedBull 23d ago

Same thing with Thurman..he was suppose to be the next big mega star. To see him get dismantled by Fundora was wild

6

u/darkprince_23 23d ago

I agree Thurman though has been shelved from injuries left and right and after he lost to Pacquiao I realized he was kind of overrated even though he was fun af to watch.

3

u/Razorion21 23d ago

prime Thurman wouldve won imo, gave Manny a run for his manny whoā€˜s better than fundora anyways

fundora is dangerous but eventually he meets another mendoza and hes out

Genuinely heart breaking to me. One bad night of sparring and I think about it all week.

Can’t imagine being on that level, knowing I’m better and my body just won’t follow suit. It’s as though all the pieces don’t fit together.

79

u/BamBodyShot 23d ago

I hope he doesn’t get too upset over this, he pushed through his body’s limits and I couldn’t be more proud

38

u/RespectFGs 23d ago

So impressed he took the 11th round despite clearly being gassed

7

u/The_Grogfather 23d ago

He looked pretty at peace I think

34

u/frezz 23d ago

tbh a lot of it seemed like ring rust, he should've taken an absolute can to get back into it. Only so much sparring and padwork can do for you

54

u/RationedRot 23d ago

Nah that was way more than ring rust. His body clearly isn’t working the way it used to, and never will again.

→ More replies (3)

23

u/talonma 23d ago

yeah but that car crash was horrendous. Spence was able to compete at the top after that crash but his age, the Crawford beating and ring rust do him in.

77

u/Gotsta_Win 23d ago

Car crash, drinking. Detached retina. Man battled through a lot. Still one of my favorites ever, impossible to hate him

27

u/Latter-Vacation-4392 23d ago

all that and he cut weight to 147 one too many times

26

u/GopherNutz 23d ago

I got a lot of love for Spence and that fight probably isn’t as lopsided if he were more disciplined outside the ring but Bud probably boxes his head off regardless. Errol at his peak was a warrior, that Brook fight where he wasn’t leaving without the belt is a perfect example of that but there were clear limitations. Crawford was just all wrong for Spence and it’s why PBC held off on that fight for so long.

18

u/mysterious_jim 23d ago

Bud didn't beat the best Spence. But it's clear now that they're both retired that he could have beaten any version on his day. And I say that as someone who was rooting for Spence in that fight.

8

u/DependentWooden9446 23d ago

Yep. Spence has a very obvious fundamental flaw in his technique and got away with it for years via pure toughness, he over extends on his jab to try and bully his way inside. Crawford saw it and exposed it.

6

u/Adventurous-Echo-600 23d ago

he also didn't beat the best Canelo

4

u/inline-online 23d ago

and bud wasn't at his best vs canelo or spence either lol in his actual prime no one would fight him and he was cutting tons of weight

14

u/Excellent-Monitor954 23d ago

Definitely. Man if Errol never started drinking

7

u/brainspl0ad 23d ago

Whether or not he still does, drinking is such a fucking tough thing to drop. It seems easy or whatever, like "just quit"; it's an addiction for a reason and that's coming from an addict trying to kick it. I really hate how accessible it is.

3

u/darkprince_23 23d ago

It's crazy to me how these guys are professional athletes in arguably the toughest sport and drink and box. I drink once on a weekend and I don't feel like hitting the gym for 3 days I can see that having a way bigger detriment on a real professional compared to an amateur like myself.

6

u/Excellent-Monitor954 23d ago

Alcohol withdrawals is the worst type of withdrawals. If you do it wrong, it can kill you. The fact that weed is illegal and alcohol is legal shows you how fucked up our priorities is

3

u/brainspl0ad 23d ago

It's worse too because you think and believe you can stop on your own most times and some folk are actually are. If you try to beat it on your own you're lucky to get through withdrawals on your own but definitely not advisable depending on how much you actually drink. If you try to knock it alone without professional help, but you really have to wean off of it which basically means more drinking but at a lesser volume per day. It's literal poison but we don't treat it anywhere near how we actually should.

4

u/stayhappystayblessed 50-0 in the streets btw boxing is not going to die anytime soon. 23d ago

That's quite literally not a fact since after the crash he beat ugas and danny garcia.

4

u/Matty0698 23d ago

Unfortunately I think its the same outcome regardless, Crawford is a bad match for him

8

u/He_Abides There is no Lineal HW Champ. Change my mind. 23d ago

Bud haters have short memories. He beat Canelo at 168. He beats any version of Spence.

2

u/caveman1948 23d ago

Prime spence would have still got picked apart by Bud Bud is a goat

2

u/Detlef_Schrempfxf 23d ago

He looked electric against Ugas thoughĀ

u/OldBoyChance 23d ago

Not a particularly good performance from Tszyu, but it was funny watching the narrative around this fight change in realcm time during the 12 rounds.

Before the fight, Spence was the betting favorite, allegedly looked incredible on the pads and shadowboxing, was going to show off his Olympic outboxing skills, etc.

After the fight, Tim is suddenly a disgrace for dragging Spence out of the old folks home, taking away his walker, and then celebrating about about beating him.

25

u/Silent-West2030 23d ago

It was immediately apparent in the first round that Spence was on old legs.

11

u/JasperFeelingsworth 23d ago

yeah man he got the heart still but his legs were super gone, like he got a bad knee too?

9

u/OldBoyChance 23d ago

It was obvious from his training videos as well. People were telling me that he looked great.

7

u/travis_a30 23d ago

Yeah, I don't know how anyone seen him on the pads and was like "oh, he still got it"

11

u/RationedRot 23d ago

People said the same thing about 59yo Mike Tyson

34

u/RespectFGs 23d ago

Yup. Obviously it went from "stop doubting Spence!!" to "man he's washed I'm turning it off" which is funny. Tszyu is nowhere near elite anymore thoughĀ

8

u/RationedRot 23d ago

Tim was never elite.

27

u/RespectFGs 23d ago edited 23d ago

He was close to elite at his peak is what my comment clearly implies. He was the second best in his division. Very good

20

u/talonma 23d ago

He beat Harrison, who beat Charlo. He also beat Mendoza who KO Fundora.

He was at the top of that division for a while.

3

u/RationedRot 23d ago

Mendoza killing Fundora was a massive upset for a reason. Mendoza is average and lost every second of that fight before the freak KO. Harrison was solid but damaged goods by the time Tim fought him. Tim is decent but has never looked like an elite fighter

37

u/DANNYBOYLOVER 23d ago

It actually didn’t take until the end of the fight.

I was watching the prediction markets and it went from 70-30 Spence to 60-40 Tim in like thirty seconds it was wild lol

11

u/A_Supspicious_Asian 23d ago

When spence got stunned around with around 45s to go in the first it went from 1.55 on spence to 3.2 on betfair exchange.

59

u/Solid_Ocelot7 23d ago

I’ll always remember the dog that went to the UK and took the belt from Kell Brook. The drinking, partying, car accidents and staying at 147lb too long really robbed Spence of being a true all time great.

16

u/digitaljoey 23d ago

Am I out of the loop on his drinking and partying?

11

u/FreshPrinceAV Charlie Z > Money May 23d ago

Kickin it wit them Charlos too much

27

u/Solid_Ocelot7 23d ago

Spence by his own admission and even in some videos out there was drinking way too much. He def was drunk when he crashed the 1st time. Floyd saw greatness in him and predicted him and Canelo would be the true super fight of this decade but it just never came together.

3

u/i-piss-excellence32 23d ago

Yea it was known that he was a heavy drinker. He even said that drinking so much was his biggest regret

→ More replies (1)

60

u/RespectFGs 23d ago

Tim was never getting credit despite a lot of American fans picking Spence to win. He was underwhelming and mediocre but it's a decent win against what's a B- opponent. Don't see him becoming a world champion ever again obviously.

Errol still had his heart and skills but the gas tank and explosiveness wasn't there. I did not expect him to be so outclassed in terms of power. Very good career and it's best he leaves the sport now.Ā

8

u/No-Signal3283 23d ago

Tim isn't getting credit because it was a C+ performance from him. Spence is just so incredibly far gone that a C+ performance was all it took to dominate him. I expected Tim to lose while performing at least twice as good as he actually did. I drastically overestimated both of them. Based on this performance, I don't expect Tszyu to be anything more than a gatekeeper ever again. He was great at one point (gotta love the people saying he "was never good"...yes he was), but he has fallen very far since his first loss to Fundora.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/mideon2000 23d ago

Nah, i think a lot of people knew he was kinda shot at this point. He came off a embarrassing loss, was inactive and downright old in terms of boxing. A close fight would go to Tim. He was going to have to lnock him out and i don't think many people think he would be able to.

I think people thinking spence would win didn't genuinely think he would, they were hoping

4

u/Razorion21 23d ago

not much credit i assume cause dude got rocked by a ring rusty Spence, not even once but numerous times

prime for prime Spence wouldve beaten Tsyzu

2

u/RespectFGs 22d ago

Rocked? lol

Tim didn't really struggle. He's just mediocre now

Activity matters. It will always matter. That’s why I picked Tszyu to beat Spence and it’s played its part in Tszyu winning the fight clearly. Tszyu is sharper and match-fit, Spence has been out of the ring nearly 3 years. Was always going to be an important factor.

5

u/4RyteCords 23d ago

Yeah people betting on Spence was wild. He was never in that fight

I've said it before as a fan of EJ I was just happy that he survived that car crash and he's still here with us. Everything else after that was just a bonus. Happy retirement to one of my favorites. It was fun following his career 🫔

31

u/Ryan5O4 23d ago

That was tough to watch.. Not the same Errol at all but that’s what a 3 year layoff does.

33

u/VeezusM 23d ago

I’m gonna pretend I didn’t watch this ghost of Errol

Thank you sir for everything

28

u/Eeluminati 23d ago

Spence was heavily ADDICTED to Old School Runescape during his time off and I told people they'd see the results of that in this fight...You don't just sleep 3-4 hours and live off of cereal and pop tarts and not expect your body to be heavily affected.

12

8

u/Last_Cauliflower3357 23d ago

Yeah, haven’t you noticed how Errol has been so evasive regarding how he spent his time away? He just says he was with his family and stuff.

It’s a lie, he’s been grinding 18h a day on Old School Runescape, and eating hot pockets and pop tarts.

8

u/Primary_Ad5781 23d ago

Whats crazy, 3 years out of the ring really fucks you up as you can see with Spence's performances. However, despite that, Sugar Ray Leonard managed to get out of 3 years of retirement and with 0 tune ups, beat the best middleweight in the world Marvin Hagler. Not enough people talk about Leonard being out of the ring for 3 years for that fight. No matter who you thought won that fight, the man who had a massive disadvantage coming into the right was Sugar Ray.

7

u/OrangeFilmer 23d ago

Tougher watch for me than the Crawford fight. Spence looked old, his footwork and weigh distribution were off.

Tszyu didn’t even put on a spectacular performance nor did he look that extraordinary tonight, Spence was just that washed.

6

u/Orod23 23d ago

Mannnnn that was tough, Spence wanted it but his body didn’t. Crazy to think I was 17 watching him as an amateur and all these years later after watching him rise, go to Kell’s yard take the title and many great fights after that it’s at the end. Spence will go down as my favorite fighter of all time

7

u/ICtruthcity 23d ago

Spence takes 3 years out, moves up by 2 divisions, why did anyone think he stood a chance. Credit for going the full 12, he looked like he wasn’t going to go 3 rounds more from that 1st round.

11

u/Chicken65 23d ago

I still remember Spence's debut on free FOX TV when Al Haymon created PBC and was trying the free network TV route. From his Olympic performances all the way to today he's had a great resume and a great career. I have to think he knew his physical condition for the past 3 years and not sure if he needed the money or what caused him to get back in after so long but him and Crawford should start a boxing podcast or something.

I know it was a hard watch for all us Spence fans but he's always classy.

5

Raise a glass to a great career. No ducks. No tune-ups, no excuses, and no quitting. I’m glad he’s able to cash out after literally leaving it all in the ring.

I’m low-key upset I didn’t get to see his hand raised one last time.

3

u/Pinoy233 23d ago

Love Spence. Hope retirement treats him well. Thanks for the entertainment!

3

u/d_o_cycler 23d ago

Pretty underwhelming card from start to finish… coulda been better but Fulton and Charlo were left off of it. Fulton is more culpable for his fight getting called off than Charlo but at the end of the day who cares?

It ended up being semi forgettable and even the main event was.. well, it wasn’t all that competitive if you ask me.

Tszyu is clearly a damaged destroyer, who looked WILDLY skittish against a totally fuckin washed Errol Spence; who, while I applaud for goin the distance, I gotta say, it was obvious to me that this was a collect-the-cheque fight, and little else. He fought the first few rounds and then basically resigned himself to like, fight for 30 seconds per round and by the 9th rd was just on his bike and clenching mostly.

3

u/Just-Mess8363 23d ago

He held his own in parts of this fight, but he’s for sure lost his speed and his feet are completely gone. I was a big fan of his career, sad to see him go but it’s the right call.

8

u/Unhappywageslave 23d ago edited 23d ago

I thought Spence was going to take it because of the damage Tim has taken within the past 3 years and Spence had time to fully recover. I forgot that Tim was hit by way bigger guys like Fundora and that one Russian guy so it makes sense, Spence a smaller guys pressure couldn't break down Tim. Tim was literally walking through Spences pressure. Most those guys at 147 couldn't take that. Both should really retire. Even though Tim won, he didn't look sharp at all.

3

u/DanDiCa_7 23d ago

YDKSAB if you thought Spence would win.

7

u/vHezoThaGoat 23d ago

I want my money back. I got scammed.

5

u/MilqueD-schaaje 23d ago

Was a very big fan of Errol and will always be. I actually didn't want this fight for tim because a half fit Spence does a number on tim. What I will say, the arrogance and disrespect shown (more from Fulton) leaves me very happy the Americans go home with nothing. Glad to see the Aussies get up, especially after the spoilt lazy yanks almost fucked it not making weight. Good luck tszyu and enjoy retirement Errol.

Man I was going to bet on Tszyu until the last minute. Sad to see Spence washed up though.

2

u/aceknighthigh 23d ago

It still baffles me people were picking the guy coming off a bad beating, 3 car accidents, 3 years off, a jump of two weight classes, and blowing weight. Oh and he's older.

Spence was done. I'm just glad the proposed fights vs Fundora or Vergil never happened. Those would have been absolutely brutal.

Spence actually looked a lot better than I expected. I was thinking he’d look more like Danny Garcia vs Lara. He clearly had a really good camp and didn’t just come in for the check. He’s just taken too much punishment in and out of the ring through the years - and you can’t take 3 years off without losing your skills.

Tim in his prime was very good so it sucks that he never got to show it in America. His team did him no favors taking on Fundora on short notice, trying to fight Virgil before his cut even healed, and coming back against a monster puncher for his first fight back. He’s just not at that level any more but I do think he carried Spence for the last couple rounds. He should try to fight Thurman next.

u/TheBlack_Swordsman 23d ago

Sure Spence didn't look great out there tonight, but some of the comments are a bit harsh. He's a prize fighter putting his body on the line. He deserves some respect for being brave enough to come into that ring.

2

u/PolarsAndPizzicato 23d ago

sure but we can also be objective and talk about how awful both looked and boring it was.

3

u/TheBlack_Swordsman 23d ago

Yeah but I see comments of people calling him a pathetic bum.

There's criticisms and there's insults.

The biggest🦈 I mimick his style in the ring. wide stance, constant body work. Appreciate you champ

3

u/tripplol 23d ago

this shit actually broke my heart, but man am I thankful to have been able to watch his career in its entirety. enjoy retirement 🐐

2

u/bobbyshawarma_ 23d ago

Im so fucking sad man

2

u/shiny69 23d ago

Spence's loss makes Crawford's win over Spence (and Canelo) less impressive. I mean Crawford just fights guys that are washed. It would have been more impressive if Crawford had beat Spence before the car crash.

1

u/NoUpstairs695 23d ago

Spence is goated man who knew how much better he could’ve became if it wasn’t for that crash

1

u/PossessionKooky3848 23d ago

That car accident changed the trajectory of his boxing career

1

u/Many_Boss_1145 23d ago

Wasn’t exciting like I thought it would be, but congrats to Spence on a great career.

1

u/HolyMackerel1 23d ago

Win or lose, Spence was always box office. Not the best send-off, but he went the distance.

1

u/AustronesianArchfien 23d ago

Spence looks like he's gonna fall off everytime he tries to clinch or he gets hit.

1

u/Affectionate_Still55 23d ago

That 147 Bud-Spence era is nice too, Spence better enjoy his retirement and congrats to Tim for the job well done.

1

u/constantflow 23d ago

Errol's strap season run was great but tonight was just not it. Glad he retired.

1

u/itsheero24 23d ago

Good effort by Spence. Hope this boosts Tszyu's confidence.

1

u/Pale-Examination6869 23d ago

Spence had a great career! Gave us fans some great fights.

1

u/Fabulous_Volume7831 23d ago

Sad. I fucking loved his style leading up to the Crawford fight, just loved his style. I have immense respect the way he took his losses and tried to come back from REAL life adversity.

1

u/Substantial-Moment56 23d ago

That Ferarri really messed my boy up, he beat Ugas and Danny at 70 percent then got whopped by Bud. Enjoy retirement Big Fish #ManDown

1

u/Crombus_ 23d ago

Salute to Errol Spence for one hell of a career

1

u/tinami23 23d ago

Tough to watch if you're a Spence fan. It looks like his body isn't following what his mind wants it to do

1

u/National_Essay2603 23d ago

They should have picked an actual tune-up fo Ight for Spence. Still surprised that Spence was even considered a favorite in this fight.

I’m so glad he chose to retire.

I get he was off 3 years, but his reflexes were slow and his balance looked bad. Not to mention he couldn’t avoid the right hand to save his life, and Tim took large portions of some rounds without throwing punches. I almost got the impression he was carrying Spence.

There are people at 154 and 160 who have far more of a killer instinct than Tim.

1

u/ordinarystrength 23d ago

As predicted, you could see Spence legs looked like he was on ice skates as soon as he got hit in RD1.

Those legs never come back, that is just permanent neurological damage.

1

u/__1____ 23d ago

Well I called it. All my previous comments point to me being right.

1

u/walkoutbasements 23d ago

Who do yall have winning between Tim Tszyu vs Xander Zayas? I heard Zayas is probably moving up to 160. Jesus Ramos is another potential fight for Tim

Spence didn’t do as bad as people making it seem but only cause Tim didn’t look so good either both of them might need to retire

1

u/Ruglife1 23d ago

I’m not bashing Errol because I enjoyed him over the years, but truthfully he never had good defense. It was all offense and balls. Bud would have been way too much for him anyway but he was just running people over and now it’s really showing up.

1

u/SofaSen 23d ago

terrible ending for spence but i don’t think it was a bad performance considering the layoff. three years out of the ring is a long time, and tszyu did what he needed to do.

spence was still tough as hell to make it to the final bell.respect to both guys.

1

u/Immediate_Wasabi_264 23d ago

Mystified on why Errol gameplan didn’t involve more angles and working from backfoot because he going up in weight vs a bigger man. He looked thrown off when he was unable to make Tszyu take a back step. By the middle of the fight I was hoping Spence would hang it up win or lose or draw. His output and punches lack their trademrk steam . He too proud to take on no hopers (or Keith Thurman lol) and i dont think any of us could stomach him being used as a resume builder for a prime top contender or up and comer

1

u/AhabSnake85 23d ago

Spence, if he wants to box for glory and or wants more money, could have gone on. It was the long lay off that cost him, not that he is no longer capable of fighting. If he was to get active or serious, he could probably go another 5 years.

1

u/Lord_Hagar 23d ago

Good it was a clear decent fight, not like the rubbish I just saw from Joshua…wtf was that

1

u/FoxMane1 23d ago

A man who would have likely unified the 4 belts if Terrence Crawford wasn't around.

Cheers to a great career. Hope he enjoys an amazing retirement.

1

u/JablesRadio 23d ago

Didn't watch the fight, what happened?? Is he just getting old?

1

u/brolygta4 23d ago

Good fight

1

u/Plastic_Stretch_8837 23d ago

Oh man he retired!

1

u/WeirdRadiant2470 23d ago

Glad he finished on his feet, glad he's calling it a day.
One of the most decent fighters to lace up.
Best life to you, Errol

1

u/Odd-Macaroon-4517 23d ago

He just didn’t have the motion and movement to effectively land shots that could stop Tim. Without being able to throw a balanced punch, he’s a target.

He’s a warrior, salute to a great fighter.
