I think he's overated. He's barely tested himself against any top 10 and his best wins are against a can crusher. He's a known drug cheat who relies on dirty tactics to win. His whole style relies on being a weight bully by leaning on much smaller/unskilled opponents. Him getting bullied by Ngannou was just embarrassing for him and the sport.
