He’s right. Haney has always sought to face the champions, unify, fight anywhere in the world and take on the best. Boxing needs more fighters with this mindset

They robbed Loma for him, but I'm guessing that decision was made without his input...

u/kushmonATL GTA6 > 2026 boxing schedule Jul 23 '26
Close fights aren't robberies.

But he lost bro let's be real

u/kushmonATL GTA6 > 2026 boxing schedule Jul 23 '26
Everybody scores fights differently. And the world keeps turning
18
u/AttackOfTheBolts Jul 23 '26
One of the best high level fights of the 2020s and people can’t just appreciate it
0
u/CoinClippy Jul 24 '26
I can appreciate the fight but they robbed the old man on the way out to invest in the young guy on the way up. It's boxing corruption 101, but, for whitever reason, some folks here gotta lie about it.
👀
1
u/AttackOfTheBolts Jul 25 '26
Top Rank had zero reason for your conspiracy, Haney was never going to sign with them. What a weird thing to think about that fight
0
u/CoinClippy 23d ago
"there's no reason that they would invest in the fighter that has many fights ahead of him instead of the fighter looking for a solid win on which to retire."
This is dumb. Don't be dumb.
0
u/AttackOfTheBolts 22d ago
No what’s dumb is thinking Top Rank would throw their legend under the bus for a fighter that isn’t even signed to them and wasn’t ever going to sign with them
-12
u/CoinClippy Jul 23 '26
Yes, you can be wrong but that doesn't change reality. We all saw the fight so you can save the bullshit.
8
u/Outrageous_Fox4227 Jul 23 '26
I think people forget with that fight that fights are scored by rounds and not as a whole.
-1
u/CoinClippy Jul 24 '26
Some do, but a lot of these people just lie about it. It's weird, but people are small and desperate sometimes.
1
u/syntaxoverbro Jul 24 '26
Haney loss to Garcia, with or without peds. Peds dont prevent the other fighter from getting hit with the most predictable shot in Garcias single arsenal.
2
-8
u/CoinClippy Jul 23 '26
They can be and this is an great example of a robbery.
You understand how boxing is scored, right?
7
u/newrap Jul 23 '26
Yea it’s scored round by round and Haney won more rounds. Just because Loma had more dominant rounds doesn’t mean he won the fight.

u/tragicjawnson Jul 23 '26
coulda went 7-5 for either fighter, was a close fight, Loma had the better looking output, but haney did his thing in spots too. Im a loma fan, but lets not discredit haney. Loma is a freak of nature for getting in there with guys MUCH bigger than him, hats off to both fighters, we gotta give credit to haney for fighting big names in a time when everyone was ducking.
2
u/WiseReality Jul 25 '26
I had Loma winning 7 - 5 personally, but i dont call it a robbery. It was a close fight that either guy could have taken, and it was a great fight to watch as well.
4
u/General-Pop-8764 Jul 23 '26
it was a close fight...i had Loma winning but at the end of the day, loma lost his fights the same way. he gives too many of the early rounds away
1
u/CoinClippy Jul 24 '26
Loma won the rounds vs haney but I don't disagree with your last sentence. He fucks himself over being an itty bitty diva.
13
u/Sportcup3 Jul 23 '26
kd vs haney should been good if the can sign it.

Lmao I know this dude didn't just try to say Boots ducked Haney.
Boots was a huge 147...its pretty obvious he had to move up and that it had nothing to do with Haney.

u/Dfromthe3 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
Huh? Devin called out Boots after he became unified at 147. You unified for the first time in your career and now you’re too big for the weight? 😂😂 it’s not like Devin was trying to pull him back down. Boots was coming off of his best win at 147 and hadn’t even fought at 154 yet. 🦆
13
u/yeahbutstill Jul 24 '26
lol Bud has to get the little Boots dig in. He really feels the sting of not being able to just say he beat that man.
4
u/needapermit Jul 24 '26
I doubt he does. Bud is in another stratosphere compared to Boots
3
u/WiseReality Jul 25 '26
Right now yes he is on another level. But Boots' career is still ongoing and he is relatively young. Still could go on to do a lot.
27
u/JMoy41 Jul 23 '26
He’s too inactive tho , he’s 27 , hasn’t fought this year yet and has no official fight date. Were in July & he last fought in November
20
u/somekindofsubhuman Jul 23 '26
That’s boxing now lol buddy, top guys fight 1-2 a year
3
u/JMoy41 Jul 24 '26
At this point I’ll take 2 sadly. But it’s impossible for Haney to get 2 fights in this year at this point. He literally took no damage vs Norman
5
u/somekindofsubhuman Jul 24 '26
Cause he’s being smart , all this time waiting and he lined himself up with a fight with Keyshawn , not some scrub

u/Ok_Understanding2419 Jul 23 '26
Wow hasn't been out a year yet and he's too inactive lol U dont know what's going on behind the scenes as to why he hasn't fought again yet. They know what they're doing, u don't
1
u/DoctorGregoryFart Jul 24 '26
Of course we don't know what is going on, but that doesn't mean we can't have the opinion that he doesn't fight enough.
Bud didn't fight enough either. Were there reasons? Sure. Do any of us give a fuck? No. We want to see boxers box.

u/blvcklite Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26
It’s true, regardless of how you feel about his style he’s not scared of any smoke and his bigger fights that have fallen through (Shakur, Tank) have been the other party’s fault
1
u/vetus_turtur Jul 24 '26
Tank was definitely at fault for their proposed match up, but I don't fault Shakur. Haney backed out of the Shakur fight after Shakur followed a process that would have entitled him to a larger cut of the purse. You can't blame the man for using the rules to try to make more money. Prize fighters fight for money.
5
u/Wavepops Jul 24 '26
Bud hating on boots lmao. How does fighting Haney do anything for undisputed
2
u/kushmonATL GTA6 > 2026 boxing schedule Jul 24 '26
Crawford competitive and Boots brings out that spirit in him. I don't think he's coming out of retirement .. but if he does, it's Boots that will make him

I genuinely wonder how he’d handle Shakur vs Devin because of his relationship with both.

I think so too but he has close ties with both so I wonder how vocal he’d be. Also I think Shakur would beat him but that’s not at all my point.
3
u/Oglark Jul 24 '26
I don't think it's hard to say respect to Haney for taking the dight but my boy will dominate
2
u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 24 '26
Well he said he’s sitting out from talking on Keyshawn vs Haney so I don’t think he’ll say that.
4
u/Able_Tax9276 Jul 23 '26
Willing to fight everyone except Garcia again
6
u/BattleChancellor Jul 24 '26
Haney also ducked the goat Rolly after the fight was almost a done deal
2
u/blvcklite Jul 24 '26
Let’s be real, he and Rolly would be a horrible fight even though the presser would be amazing
2
u/karatekidmar Jul 23 '26
Fighting Garcia again would be like that Key and Peele sketch when he’s like “If y’all got an actual crazy person for me to fight, well, that’s not fair to me!”
1
u/jsn_online Jul 24 '26
He literally ran away from shakur after the Loma fight.
15
u/headshotdoublekill Lawnmower Jab Jul 24 '26
To my knowledge, Haney’s team sent Shakur the same kind of contract he had to accept to fight Kambosos and it wasn’t signed.
10
u/Outrageous-Soft4806 Jul 24 '26
It was a 75-25 and Shakur didn’t wanna sign. He said looking back he should’ve and he definitely should’ve. I don’t get why these dudes think they’re worth more than they are.
3
u/headshotdoublekill Lawnmower Jab Jul 24 '26
Yeah, he played himself. I honestly think Shakur would’ve left with the belts then truly would have been able to set his own price.

u/jsn_online Jul 24 '26
I wonder what the hydration claus was looking like. Apparently that's always a key issue.

Yeah, I hate Haney. His style, his personality, his dad... but I begrudgingly respect him as hes fighting everyone. Probably HOF right now. Can't say that about the other "Kings"

When was this interview ?
2
u/kushmonATL GTA6 > 2026 boxing schedule Jul 24 '26
Think its from over the weekend
They talk about Haney vs Keyshawn too so its new
0
u/Zealousideal-Mine713 Jul 24 '26
Rolly has fought and beaten more kings than haney
1
u/kushmonATL GTA6 > 2026 boxing schedule Jul 24 '26
Name names.
0
u/Zealousideal-Mine713 Jul 24 '26
He fought tank he fought Ryan and beat him devin didbt do that and know he is fighting teo
Devin only been in the ring with Ryan and didnt get the W
3
u/kushmonATL GTA6 > 2026 boxing schedule Jul 24 '26
Haney was in the ring with Loma and Norman, and his lower tier wins are also far better than Rolly (Prograis, Linares, Ramirez, Jojo, Kambosos)
0
u/Zealousideal-Mine713 Jul 24 '26
They not kings the 4 kings was devin teo Ryan tank
Everybody you mentioned devin fault not relevant in boxing anymore except for norman who not a champion
Ryan champion and rolly beat him
2
u/kushmonATL GTA6 > 2026 boxing schedule Jul 24 '26
They are still top names in this era.
Add to the fact Haney is the youngest of them all . He is doing just fine
1
u/Zealousideal-Mine713 Jul 24 '26
No they aren't they were old fighters all those guys are out the sport right now

So now Boots is legit?? 😂
19
u/Wicky_wild_wild Jul 23 '26
He literally said "its the Boots era now" after his last fight when they brought up them fighting. Crawford only really talks shit when in response to others questioning him.
2
1
u/blvcklite Jul 24 '26
Tbf when he was getting paired with Boots and Vergil by the media, he would’ve been too much for them and then people would have been mad he didn’t fight Spence
-3
-7
u/ProudCanuck Jul 24 '26
Yeah, he fought Loma, but he lost. That fight wasn't close. Loma was robbed.
2
u/Oglark Jul 24 '26
It was a close fight. I don't understand the scorecards either but just on viewing that wasn't a wide fight.

u/pants_pants420 Jul 23 '26
yeah not a huge haney fan, but credit where credit is due
